Well, **** it all. (Spoilers?)

Daddle

First time out of the vault
Well, I messed up.

This is my first playthrough in FO2, and I don't think I'm doing too well. I missed out on Sulik, because I didn't realize he could be gotten, and then I went and became a slaver. Now I'm in Gecko trying save the goddamn groundwater for Lynette, and I'm trying to haul Vic's ass around. I also don't have the Highwayman. Or enough money to buy Vic his own gun and have one for myself as well. Vic has a knife, and I'm using a plain old 12 round pistol.

How can I save myself? And get Sulik? And not mess up anymore? Also, I have no idea how to operate NPCs. I know how to give them a weapon, but that's it.

It's on the disk.

If I remember correctly it's in THE FOLDER LABELED "MANUAL" !!!11!

Sulik will NOT join you if you're a slaver, nor will a lot of the remaining game be much fun. It was something that was a kewl pet project of some dev, but it really never became supported enough worth making it anything other than a "Ha-ha, you fucked yourself" trap in the game. I hope you have a savegame prior to becoming a slaver.

As for NPCs in general, they go by their own scripts in combat. Some are stupid, some are great. You just need to toy around with them or use Per's guide.

I think most of us fell into that becoming a slaver trap ONCE. I did that too and people were calling me slaver for the rest of the game, grrr. I

Another time I made the mistake of selling sulik into slavery, thinking I could kill the slavers, let the slaves be free, find sulik again, and get him back. No such luck. After selling sulik to metzger there was no was to distinguish him from any of the other slaves.

I had another weird experience with sulik once, where late in the game, around reno, I told him to wait somewhere. I got into a battle, and sulik ended up joining in, but he was hostile to me! From then on, if I went near him, he'd attack me, and worse yet, he was carrying a bunch of my loot! I have no idea why that happened, pretty sure its not because of anything I did that was "bad karma" ... hee hee

This game is full of surprises. Don't worry about messing up because you'll be back for more runs through the wasteland.

I never became a slaver, 99% of the time being a good character and doing good quests will give bigger xp rewards and sometimes cool items while being evil closes off most quests to you and makes a pretty boring game.

that was the only thing I didn't like about it...Though you can allways do all the good quests and then go on a killing spree in every single town

All the game's lacking is a remark like "He seemed to be such a nice, quiet boy" underneath your WANTED posters.

Yes, in my last game, my character Snake Plissken got pushed over the edge by one too many unappreciative talking heads. First he did all the quests for Jesus Mordino, yet was not invited to become a Made Man. Snake got pissed and butchered the entire casino. Feeling a twinge of conscience he went to Gecko and got ahold of the economic data disc, which he brought to Vault City. He then went back to Gecko and told Harold about the wonderful arrangements he was making between the two cities. Harold for some reason reacted badly to this news, flew off the handle and told Snake to get out of his sight. Snake, considering the ghouls a community of freaks anyhow, blew off some steam by blowing away The Brain, after which the ghouls became resentful for some reason, irritating Snake even more and causing him to go melt down the reactor. He then reported that he had taken care of the "Gecko problem" to Lynnette, and...well you can guess what happened next.

At least the slaves in Vault CIty are now free, even if the game doesn't say so.
