What about dual wielding weapons????

So dont know why but...is it not possible to dual wield pistols or combat knives....it would be nice to have to vampire blades with better movement direction instead of just hacking a person to death like a fool.

Basically:

Dual Wield- pistols, knifes, swords.

better motion on using swords and knifes

unarmed using styles and techniques

Wasn't it just a fake in Oblivion (replacement with shield or stuff)?

I have just imagined my PC with two Shishkebabs . With two motorcycle gas tanks.

As far as I know: yes. Second sword was used only to block.

It could be useful, but there would have to be some downside to it. Maybe a smaller chance of hitting or using up more AP?

True.

However, custom animations are possible, and it is possible to make the equipped "dual weapon" add damage, increase rate of fire, etc.

Another idea that doesn't fit in Fallout. We've been over this.

Dual wielding guns is inefficent, wastes ammo and is completely inaccurate. And made our "Lamest Fallout 3 ideas" list.

Give him a cookie becouse he is right...and i agread i know in crapy movies this happens a lot but in real life you would like to aim insted of shot 2x ammo in sky...

Not possible, in oblivion the dual wielding was not actually dual wielding - instead modders made swords that were technically shields.

Basicly they just changed shield model to sword model...

Any way its bad idea...

Pff thats lame.

Sure it might be inefficient for us puny humans but what if your a freakin cyborg with bionic arms and a silicon brain?

I wanna play as a junkie super mutant with akimbo miniguns and a funny hat. Am i welcome here?

Anyway, its not about efficiancy. Ever seen The Killer by John Woo? Its called style.

Let's get something clear:

Fallout has a enormous fanbase, and the fanbase is not happy because Fallout 3 is NOT equal to Fallout 1&2. Thus the fans aren't happy. Because the fans will NEVER be happy. EVER. Whatever a producer gives out, fans will still find flaws and complain. Because fans are whiny little bitches. Which is why we should not listen to fans when we develop games.

Y'see, even if Fallout 3 was made like Fallout 2, but with 3D and FPS-style, people would complain that it is a copy of F2 and thus sucks balls. People (fans mostly) will complain NO-MATTER-WHAT.

One can never really outdo ones masterpiece, which is why it is called a masterpiece. Fallout 1 and 2 where masterpieces, and F3 is not.

In my opinion, arguments such as "It is not like fallout" is invalid because if the game would be like Fallout 1&2, then this would not be Fallout 3, It would be Fallout 1&2. Get my point?

Fuck realism, this game isn't even close to it. Thus I agree with the man quoted, and thus I think we need dual wield.

Coituz, did you wonder why Fallout 3 is not Fallout? I tell you why. BECAUSE THE DIALOGUE IS PATHETIC AS IS THE VOICE-OVER, QUEST DESIGN, NPCS, COMBAT, MAIN STORYLINE AS WELL AS SIDEQUESTS, THEY BOTCHED UP EVERY FACTIONS FROM PREVIOUS GAME *AND* HAVE SHOWN LAZYNESS IN MULTIPLE AREAS OF GAME DESIGN, LIKE ANIMATIONS.

Because Fallout is many things, but it's not a pathetic game like that shit Bethesda's made.

Dual guns are good for kiddy shooters, so it fits F3 perfectly.

Style? With that "style", the wastleand will claim your ass faster than I can munch through pizza. And I love pizza.

Only one way I would ever consider dual wielded weapons:

One, with light-weight defensive melee blades for parrying (duh, a parrying blade) which is also rather pointless considering folks have guns.

Two, with a pair of sawed off shotguns or flareguns modified to use buckshot-loaded shells. Purely because accuracy is far from critical with those things. The downside? One would need seriously high strength to use them without tearing their own fingers off from the recoil. Ergo, by the time one had that strength there would be better weapons to use anyways.

So, I guess the answer is no to dual wielding afterall.

edit:

However I think it would be funny for a mutie to use some kind of gun in each hand, purely because he thinks it was a good idea. Hah

well a minigun is a completely ineffective weapon but your not bitchin about that. Why? because its cool(or it was in fallout 2 so its gospel but whatever).

All the whinging about how F3 is crap compared to the originals is really annoying me.

You guys have no idea how good you have it.
Im a massive shadowrun fan, what microsoft did to it was a complete disgrace. In comparison, i think beth have done a damn fine job with F3.

Fallout 3 is a good game and with the cs on the way the modding communities will make it a great game.
