First time out of the vault
[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Dec-23-00 AT 03:57PM (GMT)[p]i'm totally new here, but i've played Fallout1 and 2 over and over again, and i can't really get enough of'em.

The thing i had to say was that it's really important to have the "fallout" feeling. Ofcourse you've already figured that out, but it's dangerous to use 3D modelling sometimes when it comes to feeling in a game. What about making some stuff 2D and some stuff 3D? But i have complete faith in you and I belive that you'll fix that :) Just a reminder

Umm.. heh :)

What do you mean it's dangerous to use 3d modelling? Without 3d modelling there wouldn't be graphics in either of the fallouts at all.

Don't buy furs, it takes trees to make protest signs.

Well, i can be with 3d... But not only 3d; it must be fallout's 3d, with a camera 3/4 as are FO & FO2... In fact, it could do problems, but it was just an idea about a 3d FO game. The camera mustnt be free to go everywhere around the character.

Don't forget that...

Don't forget that 3D animation is much, much easier that 2D, because in 2D they will have to draw each frame for each character holding each weapon.Suppose that we have 20 character models in the game, and 15 weapon model. Each character could take 3 diffirent actions and each action would require 6 frames. So, let's calculate: (6*3)*(20*15)=318 diffirent drawings. But, if they used 3D animation, they would just have to make one wireframe, , 35 skins (20+15), and the just animate the stuff.Thats just about the practical side of the matter. If they used 3d, they could also do spectacular things with grafics. For example, if you made a crittical hit at your oponnents head with a shoot gun the blow would take his head of, not his arm (as in FO 1&2)!
