What are some of your unpopular opinions?

Ugly Kid

Still Mildly Glowing
And I don't mean unpopular with the general public, I mean among those on this forum.

My unpopular opinion is that Fallout 4 is actually way better than Fallout 3. In fact I believe Fallout 3 to be the worst entry in the series, even lower than PoS.

I'm at work right now but I can further elaborate later when I get home.

Fallout New Vegas is a mediocre RPG compared to real CRPG's.

I think that any RPG set in a 3D 1st/3rd person view is almost bound to be less deep than an isometric RPG unless it wants to get really janky like Daggerfall or Morrowind. Still I wouldn't call NV mediocre compared to most cRPGs since it still has a lot of the core mechanics. For instance, it certainly is more RPG-y than Planescape Torment

Science is a trash skill and should be mutilated into other, more defined, skills.

Also I'd fuck the shit out of Moira Brown, fight me. I'mma lick her lil mustache as she shoves cherry bombs up my ass for an experiment.

Have the first image I got of Moira when I duckduckgo'd her images.

If it weren't for Bethesda, the Fallout series would've been long forgotten after Interplay went under! And if Troika Games or someone else bought them instead, it would've been only known in RPG & PC Gaming circles today.

 :ok:

That's not correct though. Bioware was also bidding for Fallout.

(also, I'd rather the series be dead and forgotten than trampled over...)

Fallout 3&4 are fine games if you take the Fallout brand away from them.
They have some neat ideas, some of them implemented well, but the overall package contains too many fuck ups for them to be considered "Good Fallout Games".

Fallout 2 is great, but it's clunky compared to Fallout 1, especially as it's a chunkier game and I can imagine someone getting tired of it.

Skyrim is a great game, but it's attached to the most boring game design known to man.
Every quest is the same, every dungeon is the same and every Character is the same, it makes for some tedious playing.
Saying that, Morrowind is a great game with great design, but I'll never want another game like it again (mechanically, Oblivion is a sweet spot between the two).

Starfield will probably be just fine. A fun experience that I would probably waste a good few hours into, but a largely unremarkable game which doesn't really offer all that much new to game design.

The fight between the old guard and the newcomers really shouldn't exist, both camps have merit and there's a line down the middle in which both sides can enjoy... and that's hating on Brotherhood of steel for PS2 and the OG Xbox.

All that bullshit about ' The Cathedral' and the LA vault makes me laff. Vault Tec bought the cathedral pre-war then secretly built a vault under the gothic masterpiece, that had not been blown away during the nuclear exchange. LMFBO. I reckon ' The Master ' was a pure parody of the second coming who worked with the Nightkin who were really the angels of god.

The Glow is the only place that glowed, due to a direct hit ! The Master is the new messiah in biblical terms. Tim Cain was the firstborn of Adamski a lost prophet who nonced lil tiny baybees.

Bioware is ok.
Bioware had a good rep, yeah. Combat in some games was good as you had to use pause to beat the computer. Games such as Gangsters2, Stronghold Crusader made pausing a must. DAO2 and other may look cool running through a sequence but more often than not you get fucked up

God is canon, get over it.

Science is a trash skill and should be mutilated into other, more defined, skills.

Computer Science is an obvious one, but I struggle to think what other science skills there could be. Maybe Chemistry for drugs and studying FEV and all that.

And of course the Agriculture skill, as how else would we teach Shady Sands crop rotation?

Get rid of Science and Repair.

1. Electronics
2. Mechanics
3. Chemistry
4. Academics (alternatively roll it into INT)
5. Hacking

Don't need much more than that. Anything else Science covers will be covered by either Academics or by just the INT stat.
