What does it take to...

Still Mildly Glowing
Disarm those traps by the entrance of the Mutant Base in St. Louis? My main chara a has PE of 10 and a trap skill of 120% and is still ain't able to SPOT them!

I think they are virtually impossible to spot. I'd have to open the editor to see what the reqt's are. As long as you know they are there, detonate some explosives there or lure some SM's down to trigger them for you.

special ranks - if you've been around here a lot, done good deeds and kicked some serious mutant ass, you could get one. really, if you think you deserve one, you could pm me or odin, we'll think about it. do not try to send messages to rosh, you'll be banned :D

other ranks - based on your posts. there are lots of them, don't try to rush and post like mad, it'll mostly get you banned since you'll be noticed as spammer...

just be... in the community, talk, let the life go on... eventually you'll commint suicide once you see the Fallout: Action Crap Continues part 26 + Special Disk: Interplay needs money from you! errr... yes, I lost my self in the process :)

wtf? moron, that's me... lemme see to move this post wehre it belongs and delete this one :)

Unless someone opens the editor and confirms this, I basically had to ignore them. You CAN walk up that ramp though if you're careful, stick to the edges. I'd like to know what they are though, maybe there really IS no way to detect or disarm them?

Thanks for reminding me I/O Error, I almost forgot. There are a total of eight mines there, two on each step spaced near the edges. Whereas the normal mines on the map require a 0 skill roll, these babies require a 300 skill roll!! I am not quite sure how that figures in relation to your skill level but I think it makes them next to impossible to ever detect unless you were maxed out with the traps skill. It should depend wholly on traps.

Speaking of the Mutant mission in St Louis, how the hell do you get inside the base to save Barnaky.

I've done it before. I ages ago but I can't remember how and I am playing on toughguy mode so I keep having to start the level over again.

Please help me if you have any ideas.

To get in there without having to fight a bunch of insane mutants at once, you've to sneak arround to the north east, were you find a small way into the base, there you can take out the mutants one by one.

The general isn't there (actually you aren't supposed to enter this base when you get this mission) just a lot of experiences and items.

Hang on a sec. If you save the survivng squad and find the dead one, do you win? Last time, I did that and then the mission wasn't over - I had to check on Brimstone squad but my guy trod on a mine trying to get into the base (i though the general was in there - like I said, I haven't played the game ina while)

Traps have a base difficulty modifier set in their ENT files, and it's usually 25. Entering "0" when placing them in the level editor means that the default value is used.

What the modifier represents is a penalty to your Traps skill both in detecting as well as disarming the trap. W/the modifier set to 300 or more the trap is undetectable and cannot be disarmed. You can try this with a character w/10 PE and 300 Traps skill and they will still end up tripping over the mine since they can't find it.

Cheers,

OTB
