First, i think that there are three choices for the bad guys that is a gang(possibly the Khans) Aliens or robots.

Second i think that it had better be 3D, with the focus on atmosphere, ie; walking through the ruins of LA with huge ruins looming around you ragged ghouls hiding and running from you.

Third i think that the turn based combat should remain because it worked so well.

Fourth i think there should be some sort of multiplayer aspect to it, say perhaps 8 players or something.

Fifth (and final) there should be a larger focus on speech and less on combat, you should be able to finish the game without drawing a weapon.

Forgot some

Get away from the vault dweller, chosen one story

better A.I.

Party members should be more controllable and you should start with at least one

better background music, perhaps Metallica-Wherever I May Roam, I' m listening to it now and think it applies

No....NO Fxcking Metallica music...

...it has to be RPG music-exactly what it is, background music! Not heavy mettle... Although it would fit nicely in the cinamatics or something....

RE: No....NO Fxcking Metallica music...

Hmm, you have a point.

Yes
Yes
Cinematics will be good with Metallica

RE: No....NO Fxcking Metallica music...

The reason why Interplay/BIS has used older music is well...it's hard to explain.

It kind of is a cross between the era of "Duck and Cover" (your parents might be able to explain a bit more about the missle crisis and all the corny-ass films like you saw at the beginning of Fo2. Plus, the handbook from both games have pages that resemble little pamphlets from the time.), mixed with a post-apocalypse set in the near future.

I do like Metallica, but I just don't see it happening, to tell the truth.

RE: No....NO Fxcking Metallica music...

You're right, I think the way they mixed the post-appocolyptic style with the 20s (i think) is the shit! I like the music from then, I'm just saying that it would be decent for cinamatics...action cinamatics that is.

No it is the 50's

The feel of the time before the war was the fifties the Highwayman (the car you had in Fo2) was a design of the Bel Air's and 300 series of the fifties. The T.V. wasn't even around in the 20's which was the into to Fo1. The Covega was basically the Covette which came out in 52' or around then. SO the game is based around the fifties. Also if you look at a few other things. The Airplane in the Poster was not a Bi-Plane which was the plane of the era of the 20's it was either a Mustang or Spitfire which both were made in the 40's as so was The Atomic Bomb which was a huge threat of world destruction in the 50's. unless you know of an atomic bomb made in 20's let alone a rocket or bomber to take the weapon to where it needs to go.

Thank You and Good Night

To elaborate on that

The whole "Leaving the vault" tv-movie starring Vault Boy is based on the Duck and Cover propaganda movies that were made by the US government in the 1950s to inform the people about the atom bomb. Those days they actually told people to hide under tables if there wasn't a bombshelter near. And what's more, people believed them :-)

RE: To elaborate on that

i reckon it would work. u just gotta hide under the table really well when it's flying through the air at 800kms.

RE: To elaborate on that

Does anyone remember the original message?

RE: To elaborate on that

yeah i just read it.. i'm usually at the 3dfx boards so i'm conditioned... kinda expected to get off topic :)

RE: No....NO Fxcking Metallica music...

Maybe the song "It's the end of the world as we know it" as backgroundmusic in the opening sequence? I don't remember who did it.

That's REM

>Maybe the song "It's the end
>of the world as we
>know it" as backgroundmusic in
>the opening sequence? I don't
>remember who did it.

And since it's an 80s song it probably doesn't stand a chance. It's not campy enough. It was used for the movie "Independance Day", though...
