What the heck is the point of the "bonus" mission? (spoilers

Okay, I played through Springfield and it was really easy. Wimpy bandits are no problem when you're level 9 and have some good stuff to play with.

So other than getting the buggy, what the heck is this mission's purpose in the game? If it's really as easy and non-rewarding as it seems, why is it supposed to be a "bonus"?

I mean, almost all of my loot is the same stuff I got in Mission 2 and 3...AK47's, switchblades...blah!

On a side note, I read somewhere that taking the contents of the containers (boxes, chests, etc) in the houses in Springfield lowers your reputation. Is this true?

Anyway...just wondering if there was some point to this mission, some benefit you get from having taken the time to play through it.

Just the buggy, that's all you get. It basically was a little marketing scheme I do beleive. The makers of the game marketed a special edition pack that came with a t-shirt and a disc containing the bonus mission (all you have to do to play the bonus mission is open up the BOS file and find the "bonus mission" and change {false} to {true}.

However the added bonus of the bonus mission is that you get to raise another level. the more levels the better. making the game play a little easier when you get to the hard stuff.

no. it is not true that if you rob or steal or cheat or lie will you lose karma in the town of springfield. you will (as in the other missions) only if you get caught and have to kill whomever you were robbing from. don't kill or maim inoccent people and your reputation will never lower.
