What tools to I need?

Hello guys!

I really want to make my own total conversation.

I modded age of empires 2 extensively, and did some AI scripting as well. However, to do that I only used tools made by other people. Is there a collection of tools out there that I can get a hold of?

Or did all you modders like hex edit everything or something?

If somebody could help me on my way, I'm so very eager to put in the time it takes to do something tedious and I got a lot of time on my hands right now (I'm going through treatment for severe jet, whiskey and psycho addiction).

The best thing would be to like get the sourcecode or reverse engineer it but I can't program for shiiit.

Source scripts are available with the BIS mapper, which is one of the tools for modding fallout 2.

Fortunately for us, many great modders made tools for F2 modding, and the current tools for scripting can give you almost anything you need, so no need to reverse engineer anything. Especially if you have no prior knowledge on the subject, I think. Hell, I wish you would get into that, then you will be one of the few here in the community that will posses that knowledge.
