What? We Can't Make Our Own Squad?

According to page 100 of my PCGamer July 2001 issue, it implies that you can make your own characters. It says to get your main character, scout, pilot, and fixer... ah something like that. How can I make these characters if I only have some choppy premade ones that blow nuts.

Instead of selecting a premade character, click the button that says "create character" and viola, you can make your own char!
