Where is Jimmy J in New Reno

Makatak

First time out of the vault
I'm doing the quest to find out who caused Richard Wright to overdose. After talking to a number of dealers and not getting any dialogue options to talk about his death, I looked at the guide, and found out that I was supposed to ask one of the brothers where Richards room is, so that I can search in there and find the empty jet canister (how any player was supposed to figure that out is beyond me...) and then (based on what the guide says) I should get dialogue options when talking to the dealers.

Well I still don't have the ability to chat with dealers about Richard (except for Lil Jesus and Renesco). So I looked at the guide again and found out that Jimmy J gives you info. I asked around New Reno and Lil Jesus told me that Jimmy J hangs out by the Gym on 2nd Street. But I don't see any drug dealers near that Gym. I see a pimp outside the gym and another pimp nearby the Shark casino place.

Where is Jimmy? And don't just post a link to a guide when you answer me this time, because, as you should already know from reading my post, I LOOKED there and it doesn't tell you specifically where to find him.

Jagged Jimmy J is the guy in a red shirt standing in the middle of the street outside of the gym.

And don't think that just because you are impatient or too stupid too figure something out means we all are. I figured out most things about the game on my own.

Also, even though it seems impossible for you, do try to be a bit more polite when asking for something...don't demand...

I do, too. Or at least in Fallout 1 I was able to. I completed Fallout 1 without cheats or a guide for anything except figuring out exactly which spot to use the rope to climb into the Glow. That was the only thing I ever consulted a guide for on the first playthrough. Fallout 1 was a great game that definitely grew on my the second time I played.

Fallout 2, however, is an absolute menace. Characters either don't give you enough information, or they pass on false leads. The encounters I make on the world map often force me to save before traveling and reload about 2 or 3 times. The list goes on.

Normally I would just skip a side quest if I can't figure things out at all, but because Fallout 2 is bigger and harder, I need to get all the xp and gear I can find. So I try not to make a habit of skipping stuff.

But I can understand that most people on these boards have played through the games enough times that they forget how difficult it was to figure out what to do/where to go the first time.

As for Jimmy J, it is NO WONDER I couldn't figure out who he was. Most of the drug dealers wear black jackets and jeans or black leather armor/outfit. Jimmy J looks like just another civilian with nothing important to say.

Well, first rule of RPG's - talk to everybody. In Fallout (2), this is not so bad because the unimportant ones will have nothing to say anyway. So if you had done that, you probably would have found him by yourself.
