Killap's RP is what you are looking for - http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56087 - you should be quite satisfied.

..and do not combine it with other mods. Read the "readme" file or this wikia page for detailed informations.

Thanks. I see it includes High Resolution mod, but what about widescreen or mouse wheel? Sfall seems to include the latter, but is it compatible with RP?

The RP will not work without sfall so obviously it's compatible. After you have installed the RP goto the Fallout 2 folder on your harddrive and open the ddraw.ini file with Notepad and see all the options available to you.

One thing to remember with sfall is when changing a setting be sure there is no semi-colon before the "WhateverSetting=#" line you are changing.

For screen resolution for the game in ddraw.ini you may want to try changing these settings:

Hi was just wondering what mods for Fallout 2 to install and the order in which to install them.

I came across a thread in here that had the install order for Fallout 1 that is meant to be the most successful without it crashing and what not (just not for me though :( ).

Fallout 1 order: (this is copy/paste from my current thread)
    1) Install Fallout 1 (Fallout Collection - white label)
    2) Find and install "Fallout_1_TeamX_Patch_ENG_1.2w"
    3) Install "f1child_patch"
    4) Install "fallup13" - this is the TeamX patch 1.3.4
    5) Install "f1npcmod" from TeamX
    6) Install "sfall1" (from http://timeslip.chorrol.com/sfall.html)
    7) Install "Fallout1_High_Resolution_Patch" (I know this is a different patch then mentioned else where on the forum)
    8) Open f1_res and set AUTO_SCRN_SIZE = 0, then your desired resolution (This step I haven't done because I couldn't find AUTO_SCRN_SIZE in f1_res. I suspect that this is because I am using a different Resolution Patch)

So I was wondering was there something along the same lines for Fallout 2? This is for a first time playthrough so I want to experience the originally experience for the game, so not include Killap's Restoration Mod that adds extra content... That will be for a second playthrough.

    Timeslip's Engine Tweaks

Are they gone? His website is down and the files are off of NMA from what I've been able to find.

Googling sfall1 brings up a download link on filefront which seems to be still active. I can't guarantee that it's not a virus though.

Bought Trilogy. What patches/mods are compatible?

I just got my Fallout trilogy DVD with Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics.

I see there are a bunch of unofficial patches and mods like the restoration project, so my question is which of there are compatible with each-other and what combinations should I install to get the best results?

PS: I'm having graphics problems with 1 and 2, the colors get all messed up how can I fix that?

    I'm using Win7 32bit.

Fallout & Fallout 2 patch order

I'm new here (long time lurker actually) and recently started to replay fallout and fallout 2 again.
I was wondering in which order all these patches should be applied and found only outdated or vague information on this.

So here's a tested patching order for both FO1 and FO2:

    Fallout 1

    Install/Apply Patches in this Order:

    1. Fallout TeamX Patch 1.2 English - (the semi-official patch)
    • NOTE: this patch also re-enables children support in the UK release, but does NOT contain the children graphic files! see step 3
    2. Fallout TeamX Patch 1.3.x English - (v.1.3.5 at time of this writing)
    3. Fallout Children Patch - adds the children graphic files for the UK release, but doesn't hurt for other versions anyway
    4. Fallout High Resolution Patch - (v.2.2b at time of this writing)

    5. Fallout NPC Mod TeamX - (v.3.5 at time of this writing) fixes some issues with recruitable NPCs
    6. every other Mod/Patch

    - Fallout TeamX Patch 1.2 must be installed even if your game version already reads 1.2. (e.g. the official patch)
    - These steps also work with the Steam version of Fallout (tested with Window 7 32-Bit, completed the game with no issues)
    - The Fallout High Resolution Patch also fixes graphic glitches with Fallout under Windows 7!
    - You have to start a new game after the installation of all patches and mods.

    Fallout 2

*will add this as soon i finished fallout 2 with all these patches* :)

hope this helps and clarifies this topic a bit!

Patches, mods, restorations, and the game experience

I played FO1 and FO2 a number of years ago, and recently bought the steam package with both of them in order to relive the joy. There have been many unofficial patches, mods, and "restoration" fixes released by the FO community since I played, however, and I am uncertain of which ones to use for both games. I would like to use stable fixes that do not detract much from an "original game experience" of sorts, rather than mods that are constantly being updated to address unintended new bugs or dramatically altering the games. Are there certain mods or fixes or unofficial patches I should definitely use for both FO1&2 that truly fix bugs or imbalances in the games without altering the spirit of the original games too much?

For Fallout 2 download "Killap's unofficial restoration patch". It fixes a lot of bugs and adds some cut content back into the game.

    What do I need?

I just bought Fallout 1 at GoG. Its the US version with 1.2 patch included. I have two question:

    a) Do I need any other patch? Fallout v.1.3.5 TeamX maybe?

    b) Which mods are highly recommended for Fallout 1 ? I mean like restoration project on Fallout 2.

I would suggest Fallout FIXT mod developed by Sduibek and other modders. It's restoration project for F1 and includes many bug fixies.
    Follow thread here

But I would wait in your place few days because new version is comming.

Are there finished mods for Fallout or Fallout 2?

I remember a while ago, a couple of years ago, all were in mid-production stage. Can anyone inform me if some were finished in the meantime?
