Which patches do I actually need?

SKARDAVNELNATE

First time out of the vault
I recently bought the Fallout Collection DVD and after reading the topics here I'm still confused which patches I need for each game.

Fallout
The number in the corner is 1.2 but there's a 1.1 patch on the disc which I don't understand. Anyway I think I can go straight to the Fallout v.1.3.5 patch. But what about F1ChildPatch, does that need to come before it? What about Fallout Update Mod v1.2.5, is that included in the 1.3.5 patch or am I missing something by skipping over it? Do Fallout1 Hi-Res Patch v4.1.4 or Fallout NPC Mod v3.5 conflict with any of the other patches?

Fallout 2
Number in the corner is 1.02 with a 1.02e patch on the disc, next to some empty folders. So there's Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch. Again, a Fallout 2 Childrens Patch, with a rather ominous description this time. An Encounter Booster, a Restoration Project, and another Hi-Res Patch. With at least 3 of those doing something to increase the display resolution. Plus a few other files that claim to fix various other things (Holy Hand Grenade, Saraph's, City Limits). Do I need them all, are there more overlaps between them, do some of them conflict?

Tactics
This game seems uninformed that its been re-released as a DVD and keeps aksing for the original disc. I found a fix for that at GameCopyWorld. Install version is 1.13 with a Bonus.exe and 1.27 on the disc. It not clear what the Sound Patch or Missing Inventory Patch do, or if I need them for this version.

So which of these should I install and in what order?

Fallout 1 - you need 1.2 patch then apply the 1.3.5 one, you need hi-res patch to play it on new monitors since 640x480 wont be displayed at the screen, no idea about npc mod.

Fallout 2 - you need only the patch if u want to play the game as it was released or restoration project that come with fixes and restored content together, i believe hi-res patch is necessary too.

Tactics - when i played it there was no unofficial patch for it and i warn you: close to the end of the game the maps will be BIG and the scrolling SLOW, REALLY SLOW, and the patch that says it speeds it up it's a lie, it made the thing worse. :/

Btw, are you the same skardavnelnate who created the restoration content for planescape: torment?

That's me. Pendant of Yemeth quest, Elyce & company, Party Separations, and a bunch of cheats.

Unfortunately my take on "Revenge of the Fiend from Moridor's Box" wasn't as well received.

i see, good to see you here and thank you for your restoration stuff, Qwinn did a good job i believe adding it to the unfinished business pack. :)

SKARDAVNELNATE:
- Do not install Fallout Update Mod 1.2.5, it adds some nasty cheat characters to the game. (e.g. The Elder from Shady Sands, who will give you a hunting rifle for free.)
- High-Res patch and NPC Mod v3.5 works fine with semi-official patch 1.2 + unofficial patch 1.3.5 from TeamX, no conflicts here.
