So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs

Hello guys, I'm trying to clean up the downloads section and I wanted to tap into the expertise of the modding community. The below is a list of patches, many of them are the same with slight version or language differences. I've organized them all by language... a few questions:

- Is there any reason to keep the older version of these patches (ex. 1.2 vs 1.3.4 of the RUS TeamX patch?) Or are they made obsolete by later patches? Are they required for other mods?
- Are there any patches here that are either out-dated and have newer versions available elsewhere?

"Fallout patch" (Polish):
Fallout patch 1.3.2 (Polish) by TeamX (spolszczenie: Cubik)
Fallout patch 1.3 (Polish) by TeamX (spolszczenie: Cubik) (is this still used?)

"Fallout patch" (Russian):
Fallout Patch 1.3.4 RUS by TeamX
Fallout Patch 1.2 RUS by TeamX (is this still used?)

"Fallout patch" (English):
Fallout 1 Patch 1.3.5 ENG by TeamX

"Fallout patch" (Italian):
Unofficial Fallout Patch v1.3 Italian Translation by Baofu92

Fallout "High-res" patch:
Fallout1 Hi-Res Patch v4.1.8 by Mash
Fallout 1 Hi-Res Patch v4.1.7 (is this still used?)

Some Polish patch:
Fallout 1 Patch (Polish) (anyone know what this patch actually does?)

I'm not even sure what this is:
Fallout v.1.2.1 universal patch (eng) by TeamX

Yup, those two patches needs to be installed separately. Any version of Fallout below 1.2 needs to be upgraded with the 1.2 patch in order to get the later patch 1.3.4 (or 1.3.5) working correctly.

As for the differences between patches 1.3.4 and 1.3.5, the 1.3.5 contains all the fixes from 1.3.4 and even the NPC mod 3.5 is backward compatible with patch 1.3.4 and 1.3.5; so as long as the latest version of NPC mod is uploaded here along with latest 1.3.5 patch, I don't see much reasons for keeping the older 1.3.4 patch for end-user. (Except for archive purposes - translation teams working with different versions might find them useful, e.g.)

One more thing - after clicking the Download -> Fallout -> Patches link, I can't see all the files on my screen and there's not any way to expand/move the list as it seems. I can't see link to the latest Hi-Res patch 4.1.8 for instance, just the 4.1.7 version. It's a resolution/obsolete browser issue, Korin? (1280x1024 px, Opera 12.02)

Which link was it? This one http://www.nma-fallout.com/downloads.php or this one http://www.nma-fallout.com/vbdownloads.php? The second link is the new download area, should be less buggy.

For 1.2.1 semi-official patch:
Primary objective of this patch is to give english speaking users the most complete compilation of the official fixes from the different revisions of the game. Secondary objective is to provide the unified Fallout-modding platform for further development.
I always patch my FO1 with 1.2.1 + 1.3.5 (it needs 1.2) + hi-res.

1.2 + 1.2.1 + 1.3.5, in that order. This is all you need if playing any English version. I cannot speak of whether that applies to other languages.

A typical gamer would/should also, after those three, install the NPC Mod 3.5 and ddraw and f1_res. No particular order on those, although you must have 1.3.5 installed before installing the NPC Mod.

Maybe it would be useful to combine them in a little combo pack thing; put 1.2/1.2.1/1.3.5/NPC3.5 into one zip file. I could do that. It'd be easy and make it easier for the players.

I though the universal 1.2.1 should be enough to replace 1.2? Its readme says it has been tested with 1.0 & 1.1 US and 1.2 European editions.

Oh, true. I guess I usually just do 1.2 first in the interest of being OCD. :twitch: :look:
