white wolf- worlds of darkness

Does anyone play these and if so, what do you think? What are the better games and what works or doesn't. I'm kind of curious. Do you think it's better than d20? I saw the Call of Cthulu game once or twice and it looked interesting. Are they similar?

I used to play Vampire, Werewolf, and Changeling. Changeling was my favorite, cause it made for the best stories. But Vampire and Werewolf were both damn cool. The games focus a lot less on complicated systems, and rather focus on story. There are a lot less dice rolls, calculations, and the like with White Wolf. And the settings are very cool.

I used to play a lot of Vampire.

Damn cool game, lots of fun. You can either do something totally outlandish and silly or something very dark and serious. Great game.

I always thought White Wolf's D10 system was by far the best. Period. It was simple, and well-done.

I never really got the D20 system. The second edition D&D rules, while a bit overly complicated, worked well once you got the hang of them. I was getting out of P&P roleplaying by the time 3rd edition/D20 came out, anyway.

Had a hell of a lot of fun with Vampire. Those are some awesome memories. Ah, nostalgia.

You guys are all NERDS!!!!!!

Welsh, you're, you're, a nerd?!?!

AHHHHH!!!

I will admit I played 1st Edition D&D a few times and then I quit because they wanted me to go into character and I just can't handle that. I just wanted to kill stuff and get stronger, not talk to drunk elves....

Elves are for the gays.

Mohrg

I think that if I had to choose White Wolf's system over the d20 system, I would probably go with the d20 system just because its more in-depth. But that is just the way I am.

White Wolf's d10 system is simple and easy to use, so it is just as good. Vampire, I beleive, is the best game out of all of the Worlds of Darkness. I have played Changeling, Vampire, Hunter, Werewolf, and Demon. Werewolf and Demon are tied for second place. Demon is new, but still pretty cool. Hopefully more books will come out and expand it a bit more. Hunter wasnt very good at all. But, White Wolf makes another game called Demon Hunter X, which is very good. Its not in the Worlds of Darkness, though.

It was always fun, although the Game Master we had was a lamer all the time and he used to change the rules to how he wanted them and such. We got rid of his dumb ass the past few times we played and it was still just as fun.

...God I hate that kid...

I never got the chance to play Changeling.

Had an open White-Wolf game going once, tho', and there was a Changeling character.

I always stuck to Vampire, though. Mostly Gangrel or Toreador. My namesake, occasionally.

Changeling was alright, I just never got into it as much as Vampire. Vampire just seemed more plausible to me, more realistic.

I always played Gangrel or Nosferatu. City Gangrel, mostly, if anyone knows the difference. (They get different disciplines than a country Gangrel). Wow, now I feel like a dork, haha.

(1) Shocking.

(2) And no.

(3) And no, as everyone knows nerds have no sex. Not even with other nerds.

I knew it.

Absolutely.

I did... It's not very good... At all. They set it up pretty bad and it's unbalanced. It's crap compared to Vampire or Werewolf.

Demon Hunter X, though, is a White Wolf game, I dont think its part of the Worlds of Darkness, but its still a very good Hunter game. Id play this one over the Hunter: The Reckoning any day.
