How can you even compare Gandalf with Harry. Gandalf was a half-god, Harry is just some annoying kid who's a mix-up between Luke Skywalker, Superman and two other guys I can't remember who they are. Read the MAD version of Harry Potter and you'll see. Gandalf rulez. And of course I have read The Lord Of the Rings.

Neither are much good. Im sure Master Potter is brilliant if you are about 9, and Gandolf may apear fantastic to you. Although I find the books a bit um...... well they lack something.
If you want a hero choose the demon Crowley from Good Omens
Or the clown from the film Delacatessan

Seeing as how they're are a lot of “Lords of the Rings” fans, I guess it would be a bad time to mention my fan club of "Bored of the Rings" huh? ;-)

Heh. Bored of the Rings. That book kicks ASS! Go, parody, go!

Although, when it comes to epics, I much prefer Frank Herbert's richly woven work, Dune. Shame, I don't seem to be able to find much good parody of it. Oh, except for the movie.
