Why does my update not work?

Please help me!!!

I tried to download the UK-version to the game, but when I open it in the (correct) directory and I try to open the game it says that I need to put the Fallout 2 CD in the computer.
I hope somebody can help me, so I can get all the car-bugs fixed.

I hope my english is good enough... I am danish...

I'm not sure I know what the problem is. You have problems with installing the game? Or the patch?

Its the UK-update i tried to install, but after I done it and I try to run the game (Fallout2.exe) it says "Running Fallout 2 requires the CD!". And the CD is in!!! I dont know if its the US- or the UKversion of the game I got (Its not a gold CD).

What am I doing wrong????

Well, it's easy to figure out if you have a US or UK cd, because the UK version has no children in them. I suggest you uninstall the game and then reinstall it. After figuring out which version you have reinstall the appropriate patch.

Well then its the US-version because there are children in my version of the game. Ill try the download the US-version-patch then.

btw your previous saved games will not work when you install the patch. You need a file convertor or have to start again like I did.

Thats not a problem, I was going to start a new game anyway.

But the patch works fine after I downloaded the US-version. So that was the problem.
