[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Feb-19-01 AT 01:10PM (GMT)[p]I mean, it seems like it's 'cool', at least to a lot of the people I know, to think of Eminem as nothing more than an immature kid who says a lot of bad words.

Gee, how wrong can you get? Eminem is one of the greatest artists of the 90's. People complain about his lyrics, when the lyrics are what makes Eminem so great! Just head over to www.ohhla.com and check out some of his texts. Can't you see the fantastic skill of the man?

They say his lyrics are all about killing and raping children and 'fuck fuck fucking fuck' but they don't see the great irony. Actually, the whole thing reminds me of when Bob Dylan was doing his stuff.

GIVE THE KIDS EMINEM BEFORE BRITNEY SPEARS TAKES THEM!

Haha... where do I take it from? LOL, I amaze myself sometimes.

BRITNEY TAKE ME!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

:P

no seriously he's not that good.
He's better cause od Dr.DRE. Hereminds me of a white NWA, but by himself. What he's saying right now was being said 10 years agon by Public Enemy, NWA, Boogie down production, Ice T ... So he's not new he's just resaying what has being said in that past.
That's why remakes are so popular nowaday

No trash-talking, lower-case prone, ignorant, self-centered, 'in-your-face', 'i-am-always-right-so-you-can-suck-my-dick', 'shit-for-brains' idiots allowed.

Yeah, I remember Bob Dylan's great classic "The Times, They Are a Rapin'"

Alright, being an avid Eminem-hater, I'll state why I hate Eminem. Reminder: this is my opinion.

a) Yes, the media overdoes it with their portrayal of Eminem as a wife-beater, homophobe, etc. But be honest with yourself. That /is/ all he sings about. Drugs, his failed relationships, killing, gays... Not a lot of variety for two CDs, is it?

b) He's white trash. Plain and simple. From the classic wife-beater shirt to the wife/gay-hating. He evens tries to imitate hip hop greats by using their jargon. It's sad.

c) This is my very personal opinion: his music sucks. His voice, his lyrics, and whoever does his beats, it's terrible. You want quality hip hop? Listen to some Mos Def, some Noreaga, even some Snoop Dogg.

There. I hope that helped.

Your being sarcastic, right?

Eminem? Don't even get me started... If there's two words that come to mind when I hear his name, it's "Public Image". Ever wonder why he hates Britney Spears and N'Sync so much? It's all a part of his public image, to appeal to all those 12 year old kids who think they're to be cool. When you think about it, it's hard to find the difference between him and say... the Backstreet Boys. They both write songs to appeal to the same audience, the 12-16 year old kid. This guy builds his whole career on saying how much he hates the teen scene. If it weren't for the teenybopper scene, he wouldn't have a career. If you want best artists/artist of the 90's, give me Nirvana, Blur, or Radiohead. Can you tell the difference between Eminem and Donny Osmond? Likewise, can you tell the difference between Limp Bizkit and the Backstreet Boys. I don't have anything against Corporate Music, just Corporate Music based on Image, which is exactly why I don't like Eminem.

RE: Your being sarcastic, right?

Suitcase... you're smart

Rock-in-a-sock... for the record ICP is just as "cool" as eminem... and that sucky picture of Mr. Ninja is buggin me :-)

RE: Your being sarcastic, right?

Hmmm where did u get that shit rune?
he is not good he is an asshole end off story.
i hate this i hate that i hate everything.....ohhh i made an eminem rap.

RE: Your being sarcastic, right?

Yeah, he has lyrics like "BLEED BITCH, BLEED!!!" and it's not like the corporations would stop him from driving a bulldozer through the already-dying American Family Values if he was doing such a thing (note... he IS).

RE: Your being sarcastic, right?

Marylin Manson is better than Eminem simply because he's saying that American families (notably the parents) themselves are to blame for incidents like the Columbine shootings, instead of pop culture icons and other convenient targets like MM, KMFDM, and violence in video games.

Eminem? Man, talking about total white-trash. That dropout rapper is one of the lamest "artists" to crawl out of the cesspool of late nineties music.

Music nowadays really sucks. I'll take a CD by the Geinoh Yamashirogumi over it anyway.

Give me 90s "Grunge"(Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Soul Asylum, etc...) anyday

Does it really matter?

Every time a monkey slaps it's ass these days, some goober records it and makes an album. Some people like to listen to monkeys slapping their ass... conversely, some people like listening to Eminem. You may like him, you may not. Personally, I don't really agree with what he chooses to say, or how unrhythmically he chooses to say it. But, the fact remains that nothing short of assassination is going to shut his damnfool mouth.

Hell, I've read interviews where he gives testimony to the fact that he doesn't believe one word of what he says. It's all shock value, you know-- shock value generates publicity, publicity evokes a response, a response generates a following-- who'll pay cash. That's all it gets down to. Hell, if I could make several million dollars by memorizing every word on the bathroom wall and yelling them off-key, I probably would too. IF, that is, I wasn't sending such a message to today's youth. I'm sorry, but this man needs to shut up and get a REAL job.

Remember Vanilla Ice? Eminem is his evil twin :)

RE: Does it really matter?

He himself said 'My lyrics are black'
Who the hell is Vanilla ice?
Has anyone heard the song 'My Fault'? it is seriously messed up.
Would anyone of heard of him if he was a black man?

Only the mainstream. But then again, mainstream has probably always been shitty.
