Wildlife

GatewaysToAnnihilation

First time out of the vault
We've all seen the ants, radscorpions, deathclaws, brahmin, stupid plants, dogs and stuff...

It's all nice and stuff, but still, when I think about a nuclear wasteland in '50s science fiction, I imagine more monstrous creatures roaming around...

Some really wrong '50s monsters, like in those stop-motion films. Giant reptiles, dinosaurs, weird mammals, some weirdly mixed monsters in the mix...

...basicly, some critters that won't die off on Gauss shot.(4 might be enough...)

However, nothing like modern movie monsters. Those are way too fast. '50s monsters are slow, strong, big hulking things...

Any more stop-motion monster lovers?

EDIT: http://www.frankwu.com/Paul-listing.html this website is stacked with '50s pulp sci-fi covers... :D

Cool link, thanks. Haven't seen that before.

By the way, how much the wildlife of the East Coast differ from the wildlife of the West Coast? Like, you know, in the real life.

Well, there are floaters and centaurs. They could be called "mixed monsters", since they were made by throwing various animals in the Vats. Plus they don't die after one shot.
I see your point, however. Maybe something like Godzilla from that special encounter in FO1? :D

A lot of youtube movies.... :D

It would be fun to have an random encounter in which you fight a huge monster, and when you kill it, it turns out to be a rubber puppet. :D

I really like this idea (even though it has hit me before). I've always been a fan of 50's monster, they are not like the ones we see these days in movies starring Vin Diesel and such. They where charming.

One thing I would also like, if possible, being put into the game is somekind of a 50's narrator voice.
You know, that goes like '..meanwhile, back in the laboratory'.

I just hope they get Ron Perlman to do all the narrating. And regarding the topic: Im feeling it too. Things like old godzilla or other 50's sci-fi monsters would add to the game. The youtube links were hilarious

Check the Fanfic forum, there are a few good links there ( in the stickies ) to 50's comics/covers.
