Win XP and Fallout 2

I tried searching the forums for this particular problem but found no topics on it so I hope you cna help me.

I install fallout 2 without any problems but once i try to start it gives me an error:

"Couldn't find/load text fonts" it reads and i tried looking but didn't see any signs of being able to fix it anywhere. Thanks, i am guessing i have to download fonts but which and where?
 
Do the maximum install and see if that helps. Use the default directory for installation.
 
i got it, too. just use compatiblity mode(win95 and 98/Me should do.
