Windows 2000 install help

Hi,

I just picked up Fallout 2 (it was cheap) and now find I can't install it under windows 2000.

When I run it, I get a screen res change, and then a solid blue screen (not a BSOD) then nothing.

I've got the UK version if that makes a differnece.

www.ntcompatible.com has it listed as running by :
"execute _setup.exe instead of setup.exe"

On my CD there is no _setup.exe (nor is one created in a temp dir or where ever when running the setup.exe ).

Any advice appreciated.

Do you actually succesfully install the game or you can't even run the installation?
 
I can't run the setup.exe off the CD to perform the initial install.

It's that file that causes the blue screen, not a BSOD just a screen with a blue background and no text.

Not good...

Fallout 2 (Fallout 1, too I think) is not compatible with windows 2000...

Damn,

I got it as it was listed at http://www.ntcompatible.com as working (Fallout 1 is listed too).

Ah well, at least it was cheap :-)

Perhaps one day I'll get to play it on a Win95 emulator ;-)
