winxp + fallout2

FALLOUT2.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
How do I get it to run?

I patched it with 1.02 but then it says:

Failure initializing input devices.

Have you tried to use the compatability mode stuff in XP ? Right click on the exe file and it should be there somewhere...

yes, I tried compatibility too. Didn't work though.

Hmm..maybe you should try and uninstall it, and manually copy it over to your drive, like FO1 needs to be installed on XP/2000

AND also remember to use the compatability program: Start->Programs->Utilities(?)->Program-Compability Assistant!!

When i installed fallout i did it by using the compatability by using the run from cd option.

They're full of meaty goodness!

I don't know what went wrong last time, but I got it to work. I did the humonguous install, copied 2 more missing files from the cd and changed in my .cfg the path of the music source (not the one about the keylock!) Guess others got it to work too... I was a bit slow. BUT I GOT IT TO WORK!!
