I'm sitting here in the guardian Citadel and looking upon the sequals of one great game..the game is of course Wasteland and the sequals are of course Fallout 1/2.. Well not officially but anyone who ever played Wasteland knows what I'm talking about.
So I popped up a snake Squeezin and started to read thrue some of the messages here. What is this about comparing robots with a Terminator kind of game...The Fallout series developed from a game where you had to deal with a Cyborg Invasion. Infact the different paragraphs had references to a martian invasion, luckely that was only there to make people think that the game was about some mars attack. My god I found those wannamingos silly.. For gods sake!!! GHOULS?!? Am I playing a AD&D game here??? Look a little reference now and then to OOC things is ok, but meeting the Bridge Keeper?? If I want to play stick the apple up the monkeys butt kinda a adventure I would go play Monkey Island instead...
I sincerely Hope that they would stop that trend and get back to some more serious roots. Mutants are great, but Super Duper Mutants, give me a break, although the rat recipe was kinda funny
Thats what I want the line about you should eat the rat pretty quick or the surprise would fly away, that's funny, meeting a ghoul with a tree in his head is not!! Don't get me wrong I like Monty Pyton but not in a "post-nuclear holocaust adventure"(that line is from the Wasteland manual). Ok I think I made my point clear..if not please say so and I'll clarify.
other things:
1. Smarter NCP's not only the ones you travel with but generally a better conversation path. Like recognision, It get's stupid when Myron says "So thought you could hit Myron up for some free drugs?" when you just told him to hand everything over.
2. The Realtime/Turnbase Idea from Baldurs Gate seems to work fine.
3. Skill Increase by usage not only by SkillPoints(like Wasteland, gotta luv that game
4. Thougher NPC's. If your lv.19 maybe Cassidy is Lv. 14 (kinda like wasteland too.)
5. Well basically get back to the Wasteland Idea, instead of this flying circus thing.!
Well the deeper into this I get the more mad I get to so I'll just stop before I start using big words ...To much rambling allready
