World map journey interrupted every game day.

First time out of the vault
Hi,

I have just started the game (Fallout 2) and everything was alright until I left Arroyo and ventured east towards Klamath.
I click on Klamath and Chosen starts walking in the direction but every dawn/dusk/ (midday/midnight), he stops and I receive a map like it was an encounter. But I'm in the middle of nowhere (desert) and I have to go all the way back to the edges to be able to continue my journey.
So.. from Arroyo to Klamath I would have like 7 or 8 these 'encounters', It's just so... annoying I wonder what caused it.

Here are mods I use:
- Official US Patch v1.02
- High Resolution Patch v2.2a
- Restoration Project 1.2
- Sfall 2.4

Can you help me with that please?

PS. By the way, I have seen people having problem with running F2 on Vistats and W7's properly (colour issue). Openning task manager and closing explorer.exe solves the problem. Cheers

Removing PATCH000.DAT didn't help. That file came from Official US Patch v1.02, so I don't thnik that's the case.
It's weird, When It forces you to stop the first time you receive message "1 Perception Gained" (healing powder effect wore off I guess), and that was the case normally after you took some drugs. You were forced to stop on a world map after drug effect ceased to work.

But I'm stopped regularly without reason at dusks/dawns or middays/midnights, I don't get it at all.

Barth, if you have RP installed, then you don't need the official patch, and if you keep that file it might only cause you other problems.

This sounds eerily familiar of an issue reported awhile back with the RP. I'd suggest going to your Fallout2\data\Scripts folder and removing glkagaen.int

@Dragula: I have Q6600 and never had an issue with it and still I don't know how to 'turn off' some of the cores.

@mavi85bmn: I reinstalled the game and left RP 1.2, Resolution patch and Sfall, but It seems my old savegame needs patch000.dat in fallout2 directory, so I guess I'll have to live with it being corrupted.

@killap: Thank you so much! That's done the job. I wonder, what glkagaen.int script does exactly?

If removing patch000.dat prevents you from playing, then you are not actually fully using the RP. This is why removing the file I mentioned worked. You're going to have lots of problems down the road so I suggest reinstalling the game, installing the Restoration Project and the High Res Patch. Nothing else. Also, make sure you got the latest RP 1.2 - ie downloaded it in the past year or so.

Also, if you update to the latest version of sfall, you're going to have to make changes to the ddraw.ini file to make it compatible with the RP. Basically, just go through the file and make sure the changes in the RP ddraw.ini file are also present in the new ddraw.ini file.
