Worldmap travel speed way too fast

First time out of the vault
Hi,

I am sure this topic is widely known and I have done quite a bit of research on my own. I use the latest official FO2 patch.

I want to play FO2 as vanilla as possible and have found so far two potential fixes for the travel speed.

1. Killaps unofficial patch Version 2.1.2b
2. The "Encounter Booster Fo2" fixed Worldmap.

The Encounter Booster Fo2 does not work at all. Killaps on the other hand works fine, speed seems to me a little slower than normal, but that is fine. The huge problem I have while having Killaps patch installed is the "sudden death" I experience and which ends the game, since I can't do anything about it.

I elaborate. I am currently in the Den, I am healty, have max HPs, am not radiated or poisoned and also not attacked. For some, in the context of the game play, unexplainable reason my character dies at point 17:00. At 17:00 the screen goes white and the death picture and speech are displayed and I am back at the title screen. There seems to be nothing I can do about it.

I would really like to use Killaps patch, I like the long haired dude and the extra save slots for instance, but that "sudden death" issue ends the game and makes it therefore unplayable.

I also tried underclocking my CPU/RAM/NB. I lowered the clock speed gradually, retested the travel speed and lowerd the clock speed another increment until I was at 400 Mhz CPU and RAM/NB clock was at 100/200 Mhz if I recollect correctly. The travel speed did not change one bit, the lowering of the Clock speed had no influence.

So any idea on how I can fix the Worldmap travel speed issue would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If I remember correctly you die if one of your stats goes to zero (withdrawal effect from drugs comes to mind).
Have you taken any drugs recently? And do you have any stat that is really low?

Pop another of whatever drug you took earlier might save you, and if that don't work I suggest getting the Fallout 2 Savegame Editor and raise your stat with that.

If not related to drugs, then I can have a closer look if you are willing to provide a save game.

You could be correct. I remember I had used two doses of Jet and my guy had a base value of 1 STR and 2 END.
