[would it be possible?] no more forcing to level up

I don't like to be forced by the game to level up in any particular moment. It needs some amount of consideration and it's not funny when level-up screen appear in the middle of situation that is fully packed with action and I do not wish to think about character development but rather about some more pressing matters like how to survive a fight.

Sometimes I just want to wait a bit with distributing skill points, sometimes I prefer saving some points for later levelling up... etc. and I play that way in any game that has any kind skillpoints. For example: in real Fallout games I ususally wait a bit after gaining new level - I choose perks but not necessary use all skillpoints.

Maybe someone knows something, so I am asking: would be possible [of course if tools were provided] to redo levelling up so that player would decide whether he/she make changes now or later. Like some 'Level up' button which gives access to levelling screen. Or just some 'forward'/'next' in skill points menu just to go out of levelling menu without using them.

I think maybe it's meant that way because perks are given every single level - so perk could be obligatory choice, but skillpoints not.
 
I hate that too when this stupid text pops in and charactr's window opens up like "Hey, you leveled up! How cool is that?"

And the orchestral sound when you get it is pointless.
 
Agreed! I was in a huge gunfight where I was pinned behind a pillar and suddenly DING YOU LEVELED! WTF?! Im about to die! How can I fricking level! :crazy:

A nice little leveling button would be awesome! I would also agree to being able to use skill points when I fricking feel like it. Sometimes I just dont know whats coming up. Then I take a skill and find out I need another. Forcing me to basically roll back to a older save. Not good. Besides its not unrealistic to have the skill points be used slowly. More like credits of education you earned and use over time :D

i noticed that it is not like that... game waits until no alive enemy is close before skill screen appears. other than that i agree that it shouldn't force you to spent all your points on level up tho.
 
it's quite annoying, i would like to choose when i distribute points skill points and not necessarily all of them at once.
 
I hate it too, guess it is inevitable consequence from consolisation, maybe kiddies are too dumb to remember to level up? Any way, player choice in gameplay interface s not very common these days - I personally find it offending to my gaming self and intelligence, to be forced to develop the character - it takes away my choices as a player! Talk about hand-holding and being led by the nose ... I am very afraid this is so deeply coded in bad game design, that would be very hard to remedy with a mod, though. Sad, sad...
