Would this break a fanfic for you?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I'm in the process of touching up and going over a lengthy fanfic I've been writing. The plot follows the LW from age 10 on through FO:3 (different perspective, saving spoilers in case I decide to post it) then follows her journey west to New Vegas tying both games together into one I/E the LW is the courier.

Here's the question (minor spoiler): Is it just too broken to have Ulysses show up in Fallout 3 in dream sequences intended to be a vision in to the future?

Why travel across the whole country? Why all the supernatural visions? It was funny the first time...
Why not travel across the country? William Brandice did if you read his terminal. People have their reasons and events happen that take them places. I just thought it would be a weird twist if the LW is having dreams of Ulysses and the divide thinking he's some strange apparition only to find out he actually exists later in life. Dreams that turn out to be premonitions are not all that uncommon http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...study-intriguing-dreams-convinced-doctor.html

Anyway, I haven't picked the thing up in a long while and just looking for critique on the idea before I rewrite major portions.

I think don't bring in the visions till the events of New Vegas begin, so it's after what happened at The Divide and after being shot in the head. That way you can still keep the aspect, but drop the supernatural mumbo-jumbo, which i fear could make some readers stop reading.
