gustarballs1983

Modder
@Lexx @NovaRain possibly others..

Looking for tips on which A.I. to choose for the task for the best result, were any A.I. trained in fallout scripting specifically, Are there any that are capable of applying full syntax not just basic startrek scripting language, but all the stuff from sfall modifcations, etc?

if not... does any of you guys have any plans to train any A.I. in such tasks?

wth?
wth..
i was asking for a simple answer and you drop memes..

dunno who this vas or vaxx guy is.. is he at least a fallout modder?

if he's some random programmer then your meme is wrong grok actually is capable of creating correctly working windows scripts..
So i just gave an honest question if there are A.I.s that are cpable of writing fallout2 scripts.. and please come up with a quality answer please instead of childish meme reliance..

meme reliance..
Is it that common an issue now for it to have meme status?

The implied intent is that trying to use an AI to code in a finicky niche 90's scripting language sounds like opening a nasty can-of-worms, and likely of more hassle than (eventual) use. I think that training and tweaking the AI would become the project rather than ever modding with it.

Well *I* on the other hand think it's the future of scripting for this game, at least once all the curent scripters leave or pass away, they could lay a golden egg wich would be A.I. traind for fallout scripting, as a testament to their knowledge and means to preserve it, so that anyone who has an idea for a mod to this game could actually craft something usefull from it, rather than the game community dying out due to no life, and modding knowledge be buried in sand..

Scripting for this game is incredibly easy for the most of it. Most of the stuff you do is basically just goto functions to procedures and that's all there is. Don't think using ai is a good thing to use here if you don't even understand the basics.

1) You ask for chatgpt
"Read the scripting language documentation I'm attaching."
[documentation]

2) "Write the script I need in this language. Use the template."
[template]
[description of what you need]

3) "Add the features found in the additional documentation I'm attaching. Use the templates."
[documentation]
[templates]

...

4) Golden Egg

And don't accuse me of trolling. The AI drew me a 3D map of the location based on the design document. It just takes patience, persistence, and a little intelligence.

well that's what i had "more or less" in mind.. the dudde that was making scripts with grok literally did a similar thing, excersised his speech skill "sort of" converting it to a script thanks to grok A.I. thing is i didn't realize it was possible with almost any A.I. out there, well just not Claude i guess :p ..

So 'ol Bronek / Bronisław over here, put what i think is final proof that what i wanted is possible.. So Please any futher comments on the matter.. let it make sense, not BS like Gizmo or Lexx put up..

thing is A.I. does not requie One to understand scripting, it only requires You to know what you want and also how to describe it properly so that A.I. handles the rest.. i think A.I. is here to supplement ppl so that anyone while just being eloquent could successfully create a script for his own use..

ppl like @Lexx and @NovaRain

Could lend a hand however and simplify/ prepare the Fallout scripting documentation to just one-file-feed the A.I. with it, so it could spit out what we expect. period..

I think this will be the task ahead as a legacy to NMA portal..

I disagree. The only people who should rely on AI are the ones who do not need to; the ones who can recognize the AI's mistakes, and the ones who can learn from the AI's subtler successes.

*And it wasn't BS, it was meant to inform by example.

I spent years on the Grimrock modding forums, and it was common every few days for a member to ask the community [ersatz AI] for custom scripts. They had thorough descriptions of what they wanted, but often lacked the insight to ask for the ancillary features (and safeguards!) for their scripted ideas to work properly. This often resulted in them getting scripts that they could not understand, and couldn't understand why they'd break when used by them (who could not understand them). Worse... if (and when) they began carving out parts of the scripts they assumed were standalone features, and/or began trying to (incorrectly) mimic the code snippets inside their own scripts without knowing the pitfalls, and limits----or even calling conventions of some functions they wished to use.
