yet another quest bug? Heartache By The Number (spoilers)

I talked to Cass and got the first stage of this quest early on when I first got to Mojave Outpost. I just arrived at Crimson Caravan and didn't get any dialogue options related to it. all I got was a quest to deliver an invoice to Camp McCarran. my quest log said to do that, obviously, but also told me to find work at Crimson Caravan and pointed me back to the lady in charge there. when I talked to her again I got more work, including the next stage of Heartache By The Number ("Return to Cass and see if you can get her to part with the title for Cassidy Caravans"). when I go back to Cass there's no new dialogue. anyone else having problems with this? was I supposed to do the invoice quest before I were to get the new quests perhaps?

Worked for me. First doing some quests for Crimson Caravan, then getting Cass to sell me her caravan company. After this, the next step for Cass' quest starts, where you have to check out the dead caravans, if I remember correct.

I completed the invoice quest first and it seemed to work okay. A pretty easy speech check was all that was required to get her to sell.

As a side note, you can only clear 'Heartache By The Number' from your quest list by recruiting Cass as a companion and visiting the burned caravans. Annoying for me, as I don't want to ditch any of my current party.

I was able to continue the quest after doing the invoice quest. guess I just got the other jobs earlier than I was supposed to, but they didn't trigger completely until the right moment.

and I'm glad I picked up Cass. sure, she's not as effective in combat as Boone, but combat being as easy as it is I don't mind at all. and being a true alcoholic since the early stages of the game, her perk comes in real handy. plus, she's much prettier to look at and has funnier comments than him.

now I'm trying to find a way to complete the Silver Rush quest-line without getting her killed.
