Yup, there's a new (The Fall) patch in town and it's called 1.5, here's some info:
- Fixes in Zusammenhang mit laden und speichern
- Tiere bewegen sich korrekt
- Neue Minimap
- Händler überarbeitet
- Probleme in Zusammenhang mit Rasten behoben
- Probleme beim Werfen mit Handgranaten behoben
- Diverse Korrekturen bei der Vergabe von XP für Quests
- Kampfgeschwindigkeitsregler korrigiert
- Looting in der näheren Umgebung eines Charakters verbessert
- Diverse Questbugs gefixt
- Diverse Absturzursachen bereinigt
So that sums up to, lots of bugs fixed.

Well, it seems to have become a standard. More quest bug fixes, minimap fixes, crash bug fixes...

This still isn't out in the US right? Nice that for once Europe has to deal with the first 6 patches to iron out the bugs and not us American suckers.

Well, I just had to post here after I saw the name of the thread.

Predicted #1 Question for The Fall 2 Interviews:

"We know The Fall 2 hasn't reached gold yet, but shouldn't you be working on the first patch already?"

The more honest inquiry will be if they can manage to stow their hype and mental masturbations regarding Fallout long enough to finish any title before it ships.

Looting.
Hope that was of service. :D
Basically just stealing/burgling. Often take place during riots and other times of strife.

Although it doesn't make too much sense in this context. Unless it's just the translation.

In context of roleplaying games, any item you haven't paid for is considered "loot", be it something you stole or found on a monster's corpse.

Decomposing nipples, for instance.

Ontopic, this patch spree is ridiculous. Companies should really stop squandering on the time normally used for testing their product.

It seems the german version was released as an paid beta (alpha?) test... Well, at least they're working on fixing the bugs, i know i wouldn't play a game without Tiere bewegen sich korrekt

Ya, but vielleicht he was surprised that there's such a word in German.

I know I was.

Just like a Derek Smart release.

Not like a Derek Smart release.

This concludes the obligatory daily random Derek Smart bashing. :)

Indeed... there´re many English terms in German concerning games, computers, electronics etc. etc., but that was one I never heard of

Ignoring all the bugs, glitches and crashes, is it at least a good game?
i guess i expected too much from the game so i was very disappointed .. its ok i think but i would wait until its a low budget game as its just not worth 45-50 bucks

the story is soo fooking old .. the graphics are ugly compared to other titles similar .. there is just no real innovation + its bloody rts

kinda like hl2 .. alot of hype but nothing new

It's the same in Polish, innit? But I don't think the phrase "looting" relates to electronics. Economics, rather. ;) j/k

Though I can never cease to wonder how had the word Handy gotten into German language :D

Anyway, I just hope they get the English version and voices right.

The handy thing was caused by marketing people who are known to speak Denglish all the time -- even when it doesn't make sense or there are more accurate words in the German language (don't think they speak English just because they keep on using English words here and there, most of them can't even pronounce the majority of the words they use). Basically we just don't have a word that'd sound as easy-to-use as "mobile". The German equivalent "Mobil" would have been a bit clumsy.

Looting is what you do with corpses in RPGs and action-RPGs (although these days looting exists in many genres). If you kill a creep and take its belongings that's looting. If you loot a corpse you didn't cause and the person who's responsible for the poor sucker being dead didn't explicitly permit you to take the loot, it's loot-stealing.

The phrase has been widened out to mean anything from looting corpses to emptying containers or stealing stuff. "Ph4t l3wt" or "phat lewt" is kiddie slang for quality loot. Sometimes looting only refers to loot-stealing and then it's usually frowned upon and the poor game devs are usually pestered with requests for preventing that from happening.

Anyway. I'd guess the majority of people around knows what the word means, so I'll just shut up and pretend I didn't just waste five seconds to write that up.
