Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

I love some good old modding drama. Havent seen that in a long time around here. :>

It's text translation. In an ideal world you'd setup a repository server and give access to editors who can then edit each others files. That's how it should be done and would be the most effective way. The version control alone makes it worth it already.

Agree there was some drama unfortunately.

We tried in the past GitHub system and it didn't work for us, the files were getting corrupted after download and it was a management mess. There is another source (the first one) that is dead also worked on GitHub I only managed to salvage 3% of all texts that were located there, and we manually done 85% without any of those issues, there are and kept constant progress, I speak from my own experience, and I would not like the whole project there, I wasn't against untranslated files, but I asked for the files to be send back here after the files were successfully done.

This system may have worked for smaller mods or projects but in this case it failed twice, we don't trust it, and there is no need to or reason for us to trust it, the editing is in progress and after we are done with translation we will move to editing, after that final polish.
Everything is open for everyone to contribute as long as they stay respectful and cooperate, we have every file in order and it is ready to be send any time to new editor or translator.
There may be need for this system for the final polish, but for now we would to finish what we started that is the translation.

I will be able to help you out after I'm done with my current project. I can translate and proofread.

Well, you don't need an ideal world for it. It can be done right now, in matter of minutes.

Thank you burn, we are fine for now.
My offer stands, I can give you some untranslated files if you wish to help the project, after they are done and tested in game individualy they will need to come back to this forum, to our database.
Also I wanted to ask how big was your mod and how long you worked on it? Are there other translators working with you or its just you?

Ok people there are 49 out of 879 files left for translation including GAME files. Since we are close to finish the raw translation I will post the file count every day from now on to show the progress.
gorlomi is working on Salt Lake
Me and TC1 on Vegas
And Snikers tries to finish Reno editing.
Every help counts right now, if there is anyone that wish to help youre most welcome.

No one will never hear or read lies on this thread ever coming from our team
Also if you don't care then we care, you still have put decent effort even if not finished your share of files, and I've said before you're a good translator, being ungreatful and personal issues with my management with which you have nothing to do with I will leave outside.
Hitting new lows, eh?
Nice ninjaedit skills, btw.

Look I have no time for you, I told you not to come here. The low or not were your words first, well then have them as you liked them, I wont babysit you or anyone else, and I will lay it to you bluntly and straight forward just as you deserve it for not listening to reason and getting into things you have no bussines with. You liked my edit skills, thank you that's what I do when im texting and leave typos, being how you call it "ninja" or whatever youre talking about just shows how much childish you try to make this even though I'm not playing with you.
You are ungreatful, insolent and selfish, liar. Taking my words into caps won't help you believe me.
I undrestand your pride is hurt, by your own fault mind you, but you only make your own insults towards me come back to you, speaking of acting like little girl.
So get out of here.

The pot calling a cettle black. Would be interesting to see what you've got when calling me a "liar", bring it on.

Look I have no time for you, I told you not to come here.
I don't really care what you have or haven't, you're neither a moderator nor a person I respect anymore to shut me up. Typos, yeah, "even if not finished your share of files" is one hell of a typo. Why did you add that remark, I wonder. Haven't I told you that I would be bound to answer if something like that happens? Not wise, my friend.
I will keep answering to whatever lie you publically spew no matter how emotionally derailed it makes you to be.
I'll answer to your angry rant in PM, of course, too. But public defiances is a different matter, they must be answered in public.

I undrestand your pride is hurt, by your own fault mind you, but you only make your own insults towards me come back to you, speaking of acting like little girl.
Whoa, among all those mindless accusations and emotional rants you've actually managed to deduce something, but only to find a mare's nest, it seems. My pride is indeed hurt, but the reason is not your childish insults. You're trying to take credit for the work you've never done. My work.

I wasn't replying to you, or suggesting to do that (because you have clearly indicated an irrational hate towards version control systems). But since you think I was, I can't help but notice that you seem to say "we" and "us" an awful lot. Next time you say "we", care to name the people, so that it's clear into whose mouths are you putting words?
I didn't ask for your offer, so you may stop repeating it.
If you want to know how big are my mods, etc - you can follow the links in my signature and examine the info presented by github and/or weblate. It's all right there in the open, down to the last string of code, with every single change logged, even timestamped.

P.S. Sorry for hijacking, but I noticed a few Polish voices in this thread. If someone wants to help with a BG2 mod, Wild Mage Additions needs a few translation updates.

I thought the translation was about 75% complete...if so there isn't a great deal more to finish. Burnout happens to everyone modding Fallout, my advice is to take a break from the mod and recharge the batteries. Relax and just enjoy life, and when the time is right start with the translation again.

Half the challenge is accommodating the various personalities your bound to encounter in a large modding effort like this. Working on the Restoration Project took years, but the efforts are worth it when you see people playing and loving the game, I love playing the RP.

Fallout Nevada will be worth it.

We are at 92%, indeed there is very little to translate more, just few more days of dedication and we'll be on editing, if there is someone skilled enough to implement it we would be glad to do the voiceover in the game too at least an intro.

Nevada definitely is worth it and we are glad we could help the mod reach wider audience because we liked it so much we could not help but to start this project a year ago(so much time has passed)

4 more files done today 42 to go, it's a little early today I will try to do more if I get free time.
TC1 and gorlomi are working on their share of files.
Snikers is editing Reno (the city is huge) hold on brother I hope I can come to help in editing soon.

Hey guys there is a YouTuber that helped spread the word about the mod translation as some may remember his chanel is RetrospectiveGaming, there is an important goal he has right now and I just wanted to tell you if you have spare time to listen for what he has to say and possibly help it would be great. He is a big fan of classic Fallout and did a lot of great content.

feel free to check it out.
