"Fallout 4 adds to the lore"

Alright, So in this thread. We are going to discuss Cyberpunk and post latest information as well as opinions around it. Exchanging information we see on the their official forums and post videos. It's a fan/informative thread.

Post if you got anything interesting to say.

Breaking News: Cyperpunk 2077 confirmed to being made my CDPR. It's also an RPG in the -wait for it- Cyperpunk setting. I know, mind blowing.

Let's keep this a bit more informative or the very least interesting rather than just posting scarcastic comments.

@Spacemunkey

If you ever played cyberpunk 2020 it's quite fun. (PnP) Lots of options to choose from like downloading software that teaches you how to box or different styles of Martial Arts.

Too languages. Personally, When i make my own Science fiction game. Wing Commander, Cyberpunk 2020, Deus Ex and Shadowrun have a lot of substance.

I've never played the tabletop version but I really appreciate how CDPR is using the creator of the game to help design it. I swear every time I turn around CDPR impresses the shit out of me with how they do things.

I heard somewhere that this game would have different languages spoken, and the only way to understand these characters would be to know the language in real life or for your character to know/learn it. Very cool stuff.

It will have a good-evil morality gauge, crafting and first-person shooting.
So yes, choices have consequences and you will need skill.

A couple of months ago, an artist working in the project said that it would be the largest project ever made by CDPR, and that they had learned a lot from Witcher 3.

i expect this game have plot that revolves around of searching The Hero, not being a Hero. this is cyberpunk, unlike Deus ex which is Post-cyberpunk.

The only thing I fingercross about PERSONALRESPONSIBILITI2077 is extended modding freedom. The TES and Fallout modding freedom. If CDPR fail, at least we'll get better playground.

It'll probably be a while before anything substantive gets announced. I'm optimistic about this though with the effort CDPR has put into their games so here's hoping for good things to come.

I also will probably go in blind about the Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game it is based on to see if CDPR will be able to make me interested in the actual setting the game is based in like Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines did for me when it came to the Classic World of Darkness.

i for one, still unsure how this will compete with Deus ex. while i do know that, the two will have different idea when dealing with the cyberpunk genre. the Deus ex is focusing on the chosen one change the world by their action and approaching the ideal of post-cyberpunk aspect. the cyberpunk 2077 i think will be focuse on the dark of the age of your protagonist living.

It would be interesting to see a story based around the cyberpunk setting and period rather than a story about a character in a cyberpunk world. There seems to be a big enough gap in releases that Deus Ex and Cyberpunk 2077 would probably not need to compete with each other.

Going off-topic a moment, apparently it is possible to be a bartender in a dystopian cyberpunk city:
