What 5 games would you like to be officially remastered?

1. Kingpin: Life of Crime
2. Crimson Skies
3. Dark Forces/Jedi Knight
4. Heretic
5. Quake II

Also, moved to General Gaming. What is it with people posting stuff in the wrong subforum these days?

Knights of The Old Republic 2
System Shock 2
Deus Ex
X-Com: Terror From The Deep

I honestly have a hard time coming up with titles. A big reason is because many of the old classics are good just the way they are. Another reason is many games I would like to see are already being remastered or have been in one way or another (with varying results).

Oh, and the reasons I picked Terror From The Deep over the original X-Com is becuase a) the new series builds on the first game and it'd be pretty redundant to remaster the original on top of that, and b) TFTD is the X-Com game I grew up with and learned to love (and hate, in that X-Com way). And I much prefer the atmosphere of TFTD over the original and would love to see a modernized version of it. With the actual original gameplay intact (without bugs, and some userfriendly fixes of course).

As stated above most of the old isometric games are still fine the way they are, but here's a few that could use a coat of paint.
1. Morrowind
2. KOTOR I&II
3. Jade Empire(also wheres my fucking sequel Bioware)
4.Bards Tale
5. Witcher in TW3 engine would be awesome.

Vampire: The Masquerade absolutely. I love that game so much but the graphics have not aged well at all. I'll also say The Witcher 1. I only just started it recently and it's pretty fun but euuugh everyone is so hideous, including Geralt. That and none of the effects really look spectacular. It's a nice game but it could really use a visual polish. I'd probably list a lot of Nintendo games right now but lately Nintendo's been remastering a LOT of their old games, like Majora's Mask. Also Morrowind. We already saw what Solsthiem could look like on the Skyrim engine, it was real pretty. I'd love to see the rest of the game like that. And who knows, by having to go back and sorta remake Morrowind, they might realize how they used to make actual RPGs and rethink their ways. A boy can dream right?

Penumbra: Overture and Penumbra: Black Plague (these are amazing games by Frictional and really should be revisited - the story and setting are superb).

Fallout 1 and 2

Wasteland 1

Fallout New Vegas with Fallout 4's gameplay (the shooting aspect of Fallout 4 basically)

Morrowind (they should just release it with the MGSO mod as a full package, it looks better than Skyrim with that mod)

KOTOR I & II

Deus Ex 1 (it doesn't even run properly on most modern hardware without custom launchers - it NEEDS to be remastered)

System Shock 2 (System Shock 1 and 3 are coming though!)

Oh.
Ok.

I quite frankly don't see the point of remastering/remaking a game if it works. Fallout 1 and 2 for example works just fine. They're functional and they're not so dated that I can't enjoy them. So the only games I'd want remakes for are games who simply don't work anymore or are extremely outdated to the point that the game suffers from its own game mechanics.

1 Wasteland
A shot for shot remake is difficult to do for this game but even so I'd love to see it not only remade but also fleshed out so that all stats and skills matter, add more dialogue without the need of a third party text-file that I need to scroll through on the side, improved battle system so that I can understand what the fuck is going.

2 Dungeon Keeper
I love this game but it is dated as shit. Not only can it be a pain in the ass to get working but once I do I see that the charm is still there but the gameplay does leave much to be desired.

3 Postal 2
I should need to say anything about this one, just replay it (or play it for the first time) and see just how clunky the game is. Update time.

4 Postal 3
What a let-down... Time for a do-over! Update the AI, the pathing, the controls, everything.

5 Little Big Adventure 1/2
Lovely little gems that really would be improved by a change of gameplay to a more third party action adventure oriented gameplay.

Fallout 3's plot basically is a remake of Wasteland 1's, bar the father rat chase.

Uh... No?
In Wasteland 1 you start off by branching out your reach to nearby settlements and eventually reach Needles where you save Ace, Ace needs to go to Vegas where you find out that robots are invading the wasteland. There are multiple things to do, such as dealing with the blood cult, killing Finster before he unleashes bio-weapons and finally taking the Citadel so you can travel to Base Cochise to destroy a rogue AI that is mass producing robots.

Apart from the AI (and even that is a big stretch) the plot of Fallout 3 isn't a remake of Wasteland 1 at all.

If anything, Wasteland 2 is more of a remake of Wasteland 1's plot than Fallout 3 is.

What I was getting at was the AI being the leader of the enemy , And John Henry Eden also wanting to destroy all the common humans. Haven't played the original Wasteland in years tho. Like 2005 I think . Has aged horribly and the combat is stupidly brainless by todays standards.

1. Deus Ex
2. System Shock 2
3. Morrowind
4. Wasteland

That's all I have off the top of my head right now.

Oh and Fallout 4

Just kidding!

Silent Hill 1, could be updated to the Silent Hill 3 engine. I would love to see that. SH1 still has great atmosphere even with PSone graphics, would be great if it was updated. Maybe all silent hill games from 1 to 3 could use a remake, using modern graphics and all that. The gameplay must stay clunky, camera still has to be a problem, I like when they only remake the graphics and make the UI more friendly, not when they try to modernize the gameplay. What makes that game scarry is the fact you hear things, but don't see them. The more you see, the more control you have, worse the game gets, see all the other Silent Hill games (Homecoming, Downpour, Origins), they show this clear as water.

C&C: Tiberian Sun as well, with 2d graphics but high quality you know, maybe add the 3rd faction that was cut out, plus some more cut content as well.

And I agree with you OP, Battlefield 1942 remake would be great.

1. Shenmue 1/2- These are two games that need a serious remastering, especially considering the third title drops next year.
2. Mass Effect Trilogy- I know I will get some hate for this, but this is one series I wouldn't have minded getting the Remaster. Especially if we're giving it to any game.
3. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops- This game needs some serious love. While not the best in the series, and not exactly canonical, it's still an enjoyable game.
4. Command and Conquer General- A sequel will do, I just want to see this name return.
5. Final Fantasy VI- Okay, I'm kind of cheating on this one as it's more of a Remake I want to see, but if fans can get their 7, I would like my 6. (But this one may actually happen).

I'm going to go ahead and add Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas to the list.

I want to see both of those games redone with the gameplay/FPS improvements of Fallout 4 but with the dialogue systems of New Vegas and Fallout 3.

But why does it need a remaster already? It's pretty recent and I actually played Mass Effect 1 a month ago and it still holds up.

It wasn't so much of a game that should be remastered, but when we got the whole Remaster boom of 2014, it was the only title I would have liked to have seen get the treatment.
It didn't.. I'm fine with owning the games on 360.
If it did, then I would have probably picked it up.

If God of War III and Bioshock was getting remastered, I have no reason to see why ME shouldn't have.
