Personally... I think Don give a fug. It certainly has the potential to be cool but then so did motion controls. That didn't turn out nearly as awesome as expected. Turns out it was a sucky gimmick... And I expect the same from VR.

I voted yes, but not for VR in it's current state. While what we have now certainly looks good, I have absolutely no doubts that in 5-10 years this technology has the potential to become something incredible.

A lot of people obviously care, but me? Not really, no. I agree with the poster above: I'm excited about where it might end up in the future. But the current iterations look like overhyped gimmicks to me. There was a thread about this just a while ago, by the way. Might want to look that up.

Not really all that excited about it. It's probably going to be years before the technology gets past its current "cool gadget" stage, and even more years before it's actually affordable for most people.

I can't even if I could. This thing only makes me throw up (maybe not literally but still) but not showing something impressive.
BTW, have fun playing low-FOV games like Bioshock Infinite in VR. Now THAT'S EXCITING.

And Messy!

I'm not excited at all. I'd rather not be in the game world, but rather just see it from my screen, and not from an over-glorified pair of goggles.

Never really been excited for this kinda stuff. Even back when I was a kid and I was more open to "the future of tomorrow... Today!" I just imagine the kinds of games I enjoy playing and then I think about VR, how would those games even work?

The only games that would work would be first person games and in order to "VR" them you need a heavy and ugly fucking headpiece that blocks out any vision but the screen, something that I always thought would give you motion sickness and according to what I've heard from others the VR equipment of today does just that.

Second to that, you need to wear gloves of some kind to really 'grip' things in the virtual reality and I thought about that even as a child and was just like "how would a game even respond to things like that?" I mean, you could do a medieval game and have really accurate hitbox systems in place and all but there comes a point when that immersion is going to be broken, like clipping issues and shit and if the glove malfunctions.

And finally, the movement. I didn't even think that it could be done until they showed that strapped in 360 degrees threadmill looking thing. And uh.... Well... I dunno about the rest of yall but I simply don't have room for something like that. And there are still issues. Like... Oh I dunno... Sneaking? Jumping? Sprinting, like, properly fucking legging it. I just don't see how that would work.

VR in its current form is still too limiting and I quite frankly don't see how it could possibly move forward anymore than it already has. Even if you perfect these things they still come with limitations. When I want to play a game I don't want to strap myself into a lot of different things just so that I can chase an immersion-high because my ordinary life is too pathetic and I need the fix man I GOT TO HAVE THE FIX! PLEASE OH GOD HELP ME ESCAPE THIS WORLD!!!

Ultimately I think it is a waste of money. VR equipment would probably work great in a game arcade (but those aren't as plentiful as they used to be back in the day) however how many of us would want to strap into all of that crap just to play a game?

At the same time I don't really care. If I have to give my 2 cents then yeah, I have some criticisms but at the end of the day I really don't give a damn. It can exist over there and be obsolete in a corner opposite to me an I'll just stick over here with my mouse and keyboard and play Skyrim.

No. There's very little that VR would add to the games I like to play.

The sole game I can think of that would be fun to play with VR is the original DOOM, and I'm sure John Carmack is already working on that, if not someone out of the many players of DOOM who are programmers/coders.

When I was a kid my parents took me to a computer/something convention. It was during the first VR craze. I got to check out Doom 1 with a VR headset. Only for a couple of minutes, and no real gameplay. I thought it sucked, the screen was tiny and there was nothing "real" about it whatsoever. But it's a fun memory.

No I don't care about VR. I used it before and I accidentally kicked my mom in the back. Yeah after using VR sometime in 2004 I don't think I want to use it again.

Fixed and agree 100%

I've tried VR before, and it's neat I guess.
But outside of helping Med students, helping people with phobias and that sort of stuff, there's not much in it for me.

I guess the idea of playing something like PT in VR would be fun, but I'm a wimp so I guess I wouldn't do it.
Plus, I enjoy sitting down and just playing for a few hours.
I tend to get a tiny bit of motion sickness, and I do certainly feel weird trying it out.
But I doubt I would spend something like hours playing Fallout 4 in VR, simply because that wouldn't make the game good.
And if I do want to play a good game in VR, I enjoy it enough just sitting down and playing it. I wouldn't want to mix the two in case of ruining my enjoyment, or it not adding anything.

So I'm inbetween. At the moment, it's just another thing, not anything too special yet.
Not only that, but it just adds more work to develop for.

Not particualarly interested in wearing a headset and goggles and pretending I'm inside a game. It seems like its a stupid gimmick, that wouldn't work for the vast majority of games, and would be limited to first person.

If they get a fully immersive VR, or one that could be adapted to play all sorts of games, I'd possibly take an interest. At the moment it just seems like a waste of money.

I got an opportunity to try VR yesterday and after a good few hours let me just say that while I may have been a skeptic before, I am no longer. You really need to experience it to truly grasp what it is.

even more so with vive, never i experience any dizzi after i put the VR headset on. well, the current build of vive is quite bulky to be honest.
