Early Power Armour?

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
So, my fellow users, after playing NV and browsing the Internet, I came across this:

These are fan based models for Fallout Van Buren game, currently being made.

And one thing crossed my mind. Were there any earlier models, before T51b?

I mean, t45d doesn't count, because it is a bugthesda invention with it's floating shoulders and fusion cores.

So, I would like to know, is there any info about different models?

T-45d appeared in Van Buren tech demo first, Bethesda just took the idea and developed butchered it further in Fallout 3.
Currently there's no earlier models in the series, unless Bugthiefda wants to add one in their future games.

I prefer not to quote the wiki, but I believe it was basically t-51b, just using energy cells. The model that appeared in Van Buren tech demo looked almost exactly the same. I played it and it was very similar.

But since it is betheshit we are talking about, they will most likely introduce t-70 that looks exactly like t-60, but let us breathe underwater, fly and was developed days before Great War. It also will have better stats than APA.

It is a pity really, I wanted to some early models, but not even nexus can help me with that.

I think it would be interesting to encounter a more legit prototype for the early power armors. Like if we encountered the original workshop that was designing them and could loot the busted old relic.

I think adding something like that to the games would be a really cool mod or interesting lore piece. But I think this is a case of DIY power armor because the chances that Bethesda would make something reasonable or otherwise is not a wise gamble.

T-45d is the "earliest" Power Armor, and unfortunately only the FO3 version is considered canon.

Good luck in your search for more worthy armor.

T45d is barely functional, made of steel plates unlikely to stop even 5.56 AP (T51b, the 'best' prewar armour is only capable of stopping .308 roughly, unlikely to stop .308 AP), sucking up small energy cells, and wearing it requires a whole other suit too (recon armour).

Anything before T 45 would be little more than power assistance with a frame at best, or a clunky useless suit.

Well, T45d didn't use fusion cores in F3...

I personally never had a problem with T45d to be honest. It was designed to be a weaker version of T51b and I think they got that across with it's stats and design. Am I happy that the entire Lyons Brotherhood is wearing it? Hell no, but the power armor itself is ok with me.

T45 functionally had fusion cores in Fallout 3, never needing recharging.

T45 is a disgustingly weaker suit in lore, nowhere near as agile, or tough.

There's a reason why we use Ceramics and composites in armour now.

Of course t-45d power armor wouldn't be very resilient compared to all the other later power armor models. It was the first one, developed in 2067 during the war in Alaska.

I know, what I am saying is that ironically its probably TOO tough ingame.
