A solution to power of atom? Moral study

Dark lord of dark darkness
I wanted to ask you, in your opinion, is it right or wrong to nuke megaton? Personaly, this was a quest that hit me the hardest while playing fallout 3. It reminded me of good old days of choice and consuqence like in fallout 1 when by telling the water merchants the location the vault speeds up the timer. This was similar and a great move by bethesda. This was when I realised that this game is simply more than a fallout game. This game was art. It allowed us to nuke one of the main towns of the game. Many people praise New Vegas, but they forget about this quest in fallout 3. Do I blow up the town and get the money? Or do I not? It was brialliant. I am sorry, but does new vegas let you nuke a town? Yeah I thought not. I also like how it was aknowleged by npcs, like dad. I personaly did nuke megaton because I wanted the caps, but then I felt guilt. This game is art because it made me feel something like that in game. What is your opinion on this quest and its resolution?

You're making the trolling too obvious at this point.
There you go again. Just because you disagre with I am a troll? I dont get that logic. Then you are a troll too. Fine logic you got there. Stop bothering me

Poe-tastic.

I don't understand argument "I blow up town for cash".

Let's assume that PC is skilled enough to convince Burke to pay 1000 caps for the job.

When you first time play the game it might seem like a huge amount of money, but if you just take a look at shop inventories or accept some other quests you'll quickly see that this amount is literally pocket change and blowing town is not even maniacally evil way, it's FUCKING RETARD'S way.

So let's look what a thousand caps is in FO3:
First what you need to do for the same reward:
-get 4 slaves for Paradise Falls
-get 100 scrap metal for Walter
-get 33 boxes of Sugar Bombs for Murphy
-get 10 pre-war books for BoS
-if you complete Nuka Cola Quantum quest you gain 1200 or 2400 caps
-turn in 200 ears/ fingers (or 100 if you're very evil/ good)

What can you buy for a thousand?
-a theme for your suite
-jukebox and nuka-cola machine for your suite
-workbench for your suite

Are you ill? Or do you truly believe nuking a small town for chump change is some kind of deep moral dilemma? Shit, it isn't even a hard choice from a gameplay POV. You lose out on merchants, a follower and a player home in exchange for... a slightly nicer player home and a bag of caps you could easily get just by doing the kill loot sell cycle for a half hour or from abusing the barter exploit.

I am sorry, but does new vegas let you nuke a town? Yeah I thought not.
Lonesome Road. The Courier is in possesion of ICBMs by the end of the DLC, with the option to nuke NCR and/or The Legion, or to walk away from that power over thousands of lives. Nukes are serious business, they're the entire reason the world is broken in Fallout. They should be treated with the weight and gravitas they righty command. Unless you're Bethesda of course. Then it becomes "dude nukes lmao"

Lonesome road is full of plotholes, and it doesn't let you see the explosion.... Uhh so yeah bad argument

You're aware that both launch sites are pretty far away from the divide? Not exactly a case of looking at a city from a tower. There's also the matter of all the rubble and debris that would block any chance of you seeing the boom. Instead of an epic mushroom cloud, you end up witness to the hellhole/s you willingly created.

Solution to Power of Atom: Dont build the town around a functional WMD (AKA dont be an imbecile)

Second option: Move
Just want to point out the game does explain why they lived there. There were powerful sandstorms in the past and the crater gave them safety. They built up the walls with the help of the CoA (who were considered valuable fighters, explaining why the settlers didn't just kill them all when they were done) to reinforce the crater better.

Even if the origin could use some refining, it's kinda annoying when folks say "they moved there for nothing" when the game outright tells you why.

I bet you don't even know what a plothole is. Or else you would be complaining about the huge amount of plot holes in Fallout 3.
A plot hole is a hole in the plot. Despite your hate, everything in fallout 3 is explained and there are no plotholes. Lonesome road on the other hand....

I'm not sure why anyone here is still feeding this troll. I do hope he is a troll. Otherwise, he has problems.

Okay I can'ttake it anymore yeah I am trolling I was bored... blowing up a city is not really a moral choice.

True, it is explained in the game well. My point still stands on that.

It still doesn't make much sense. It would if the crater was the only thing that offers safety there, surrounded by huge open space of wasteland. But that is not the case. There is literally a pre-War town outside of Megaton which has seemingly survived those same sandstorms.

Would-be Megaton denizens would have easily inhabited and reinforced that town (or one of the other surrounding places, and there are such) than haul airplane parts across the wastes in order to build a city around a nuclear bomb. Besides, how the hell did they haul those huge chunks of metal across the rocky terrain?

And I kinda like the design of Megaton, mind you. Aside from the bomb which is the thing that makes zero sense, I like the idea of a town built in a huge crater, but Megaton doesn't make sense in any way.

Also, don't double post.

What plot hole does Lonesome Road have?

As mentioned before you can visit the two places that those missiles strike. You can also see the Courier's mile and the explosion that creates it.

Can you explain to me why the Enclave were trying to stop me from turning on the machine they wanted to turn on?

Why didn't you just admit it when you were called out on it then?
