I do not remember this actually, so I've removed the shady links and website name, but I dunno if this is legit.
It sounds shady.

Edit: damn ninjas

Pay subscription for what, exactly, an alpha release, access to development "diary"?

There's a polish Fallout 2 3D project in development, it even got covered by PCGamer in an article (easily found with a quick search), that is available for free, no payment in advance is required.

Well, I wish the people involved good luck on their endeavor.
That said, I'm not paying more than 200 USD to check the progress made thus far.

FWIW, Boosty isn't a scam site, it's just what Russians use for Paypal since almost every other website bans financial transactions with them. I had to use it to help a friend get out of Russia a few years ago.

No clue about this particular Boosty though.

Ah ok, I didn't know that, thanks.

What happened here?
Some guy called red888guns has a thing on Boosty (Russian patreon) for a project called Fallout Bakersfield.

I don't recall this guy or the project, so I removed the links originally because I didn't know what Boosty was. You can just google boosty and his name to find it I think.

As Zaius says above, it sounds like any other large vaporware modding project, now with the added privilege of paying to get updates (or, if it matches most huge Fallout modding projects, paying to not get updates)
