The disastrous Fallout subreddit!

It's a main series subreddit, it's obviously gonna be a shithole. The funny thing is that, yeah, NMA has some very questionable takes...except, oh wait, the main subreddit has those too, why else is there a fucking catalogue of at least 15-30 downvoted comments, ready to do a "roman salute" whenever someone brings up something "woke?"

On NMA, people reply, on plebbit the solution is always to downvote and pretend those people do not exist, because they are the "wholesome big chungus" subreddit, and not the negative old forum. What plebbitors don't realize is that shoving comments on the bottom of the page doesn't make the future mosque shooter any less mosque-shooty, it just hides the problem, like cleaning up right before child protective services come to your house.
 
The irony is that Fallout Reddit says NMA is an echo chamber, while in the Fallout Reddit any criticism of the Bethesda Fallout is shut down and you are allowed to shit on Fallout 1 and 2 because they are disgusting isometric turn based outdated 90s RPGs made for nerds.

Yeah, NMA is mostly a forum for people that don't like the Bethesda entries, but the reason for that is that we at least allowed to express opinions without getting swarmed by downvotes and people calling you a boomer for liking games made in the 90s.

I left the subreddit after I saw someone say that people on NMA are neo nazis, everyone always claims that new Vegas fans are supposedly toxic but the shit on that subreddit is blind follower behavior, like ant drones protecting a queen

I love Chris Avellone but that is exactly what Bethesda is doing, stagnation, if nothing ever changes, than that’s bad story design, having your choices matter by civilization progressing is important imo, from fallout 1, to fallout 2 to new Vegas civilization keeps progressing more and more,

It is a dumbass take. Fallout was about how humanity would progress after a nuclear apocalypse, and that meant moving pass the Mad Max stage.
 
Nuking civilizations just to preserve the post-apocalyptic status quo is stupid and lazy writing. But Fallout SHOULD remain recognizably post-apocalyptic. Games should not be set in the heartland of the NCR 200 years after the war, for example. Once banditry is under control and everyone has electricity and indoor plumbing it ceases to be a wasteland. And that’s no fun. There should always be a Mad Max/Wild West element to the setting.
 
Well, just because it is in NCR doesn't mean that everything is peachy.
They have corruption.
Bandits.
Criminals.
Mob families.
Caravan wars.

All kinds of stuff.
Add to that NCR struggling to maintain itself after losing in FNV and that could lead to a lot of power struggles as well.
Not to mention NCR fracturing itself and infighting.

But yeah we should never actually go fully civilized with no problems other than shoplifting and drunken bar brawls. That's just boring.
 
Going through /r Fallout is kinda funny. Every thread even mentioning NMA, triggers dog piling galore. Saying we're nazis and racist over here lol. What's peculiar is they allways has the same amount of 50 - 70 likes and 3 to 4 burner accounts agreeing with them in the same mannerism. Is Todd Howard trying to out-autist Elon Musk by using his own horde of bots ..? :freak:

I’ve seen people say the site is named No Mutants Allowed because we’re racists and we miss the entire point of the series. Quite ironic.

But to be fair I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Nazis here from time to time.
