Fallout 2 mod Megamod version 2.47 Bug Reports and Suggestions

Hi there, interested in syncing a bit of lore expansion I'm working on with what's in the Megamod. I believe Vault 14 is a location in this mod? Could someone please give me a rough idea of where it is relative to Vault 13 and 15?

I'd play through the mod and find out myself, but I'm currently playing through Fallout Resurrection just now ;)

It is north of Vault 15. Two squares up, one square right.

Thanks man! That ties in nicely with a particular piece of character lore. It will be good to have the two threads compliment one another.
 
Few bugs I encountered in my playthrough 2.47.8:
Navarro Marisa bugged (talking to her crashes the game, rewriting script from previous version fixed this)
NCR Elise (Ranger girl) - when sent on mission against slavers, ended in another location (not slaver camp, but farm)

The Glow - killing Molech creature crashes the game
Den Residental - I can confirm it is working after replacing dcdealer.int from older version
Slaver Camp/Sulik sister - even after copying missing camp file and replacing her dialogue file rtibec7.msg, (which both fixes relevant crashes) the game crashes when: trying to open her cage; or when talking to her, after her release in the Primitive tribe area -> she cannot be saved

Companions are not levelling (the message says the got level up, but HP are not changing - I am levl 30, Vic still has 70 HP and Cassidy HP 80, jave them all the playthrough). Update: Companions do level up, but after save/load, they are reverted to basic stats.
Combat seem totally broken: armors/DT/DRs are not working/working strange? With 95% DR in Advanced Power armor, basic pistols give me full damage. Almost every burst from anything kills anything/anybody.
Talking to hubologist celebrities crashes the game. Copying fchuavki.int from pre- talking heads version fixed this.

Everything in red above has been fixed for the next release.
Companions have that odd error with leveling up and then reverting upon game loads because you are missing a bunch of the proto files. Look in your data/proto/critters folder. There should be a few hundred files there. If you only have about 55, then that is the problem. Copy the files from a previous version and your party members will level up again properly.

Still planned for release mid April?
 
A trip that I'm planning got delayed a couple of weeks... which gives me some more time to mod before I go. So, now looking at releasing a version by May 5th.
we're really looking forward to the new version, keep on the good word and thank you so much!
 
"The Glow - killing Molech creature crashes the game"

Fixed this error. The problem was that it had no category for the type of creature it was. Killing it will no longer crash the game.

Anyone interested can grab the file here: Megamod 2.47.9

It weighs in at about 120 mb because of all the critter art files. I had to rename a bunch of them because they were either missing animations or because renaming some of them just caused the graphics to move smoother. I don't recall all the ones which I modified, though. So, I just included everything.

Just unzip the files and place those folders into your main Fallout2 folder. This is not a full repack. It needs to be added on top of the last full version of the Megamod. Previously saved games should work. I don't think I modified any files which would require a restart. That said, even if you don't restart a game, some changes may not take effect unless you are entering a location for the first time.

A list of changes and fixes can be found below.
-Numerous dialog and grammar fixes
-Minor corrections to various maps
-Added more talking heads (thanks to Goat_Boy)
-Cleaned up code in some scripts
-If you threaten to leave Myron behind, he may offer to lead you to the EPA... if you keep him around. This now works properly.
-More corrections to NPCs/quests in Colly (thanks to Muttie)

-Re-added script to the slaver camp map which had been accidentally removed and was causing problems

-Updated Cassidy's voice (thanks to Dravian's work from 2024)
-fixed potential for missing items and crashes resulting from invisible looters
-Fixed the crash which would occur with the assignment of the Vault Village quest
-Harry now gives the proper weapons for the Vault Village quest
-Fixed code for Smitty, the drill sergeant, Maria in Navarro, and Orville Wright which made them unstable
-Josh, a bartender in Redding, now charges the right amount for drinks
-Changes/Fixes to New Reno croupiers
-Ranger Elise now leads a raid against slavers to the right location
-Killing the Molech creature at the Glow no longer crashes the game
-Talking to to the Hubologist celebrities no longer crashes the game

I can't look at the files now (not for several weeks), but you may be able to figure it out or someone here can tell you exactly. Delete the movie file in the data folder. Then the default one will play.
 
I'm sorry but this gotta be the most confusing mod pack I ever seen, you are not exactly saying how we should install the mod,

can you please elaborate how are we supposed to use the mod from a fresh install, I'd appriciate it if you tell it step by step.

Note, I've been following the progress of this mod for years now and I'm starting to lose hope when I tried to install this mod, only to see that features from installer version(like game speed, character head select and so many other features) are missing, crashes and wiki basically lying to you or not working such as the vertibird questline from navarro.
