What are some of your unpopular opinions?

they do exist, well kinda, tangler hand is a cut content, but hey it can be canon
Even so, one man in a post-nuclear world seems lacking. I'd imagine raider amputees running around with dagger and ripper hands oughta be way more commonplace.

The tv show would’ve been a perfect opportunity to hire disabled actors as extras or even significant characters. Amputees, little people, hunchbacks, people with facial deformities, etc would’ve really helped the atmosphere and contrast wastelanders with vault dwellers.

I guess the real question is, do you get woke points for casting such people, or would you be accused of exploiting them?
I mean George Miller did that with Fury Road and Furiosa with no issues raised.

Mr house is more well written and interesting character than Joshua Graham
the worst weapon that was added to the franchise is the fat man
the radio add nothing to the world, it's just "the player did so it triggers this", the newspaper in arcanum were better by a mile, and i prefer reading it than hearing it while i am walking in the world waiting random special dialogue for hours after 100 songs from the 50s that kills the immersion just tells me about my actions and not the world, or a rumor or dialogue that should have been in the game in he first place
yes i think newspaper are superior

Hearing random oldies on the radio constantly gets annoying and doesn't help with worldbuilding, as it implies that there is only one type of music that exists instead of various types, making the world feel small.

I agree, the radio feature has only gotten worse and worse as the series continued. I have no problem with oldies as the song choices because it fits the universe and I can suspend my disbelief that this is the TYPE of music that would be synonymous with the Old World without the game creators having to make entire albums of new songs, but the newer games use the radio for mainly novelty records about atomic war or sex innuendos rather than songs that work in tandem with the game's themes like New Vegas did. Also the DJs of these station all suck, Mr. New Vegas is the only exception because he reports new about the activities going on in the world, not just the player's choices or random unnecessary factoids irrelevant to the happenings of the wasteland. Three Dog is annoyingly omniscient and is a horrible reporter, often drawing unverified conclusions that could get people killed for no reason. Travis is a literal joke character who I wish death upon. Julie of Radio Appalachia single-handedly ruined that station for me I can't stand her corny sappy tangents.

I feel like it would have made more sense if the radio in New Vegas played music from the 2070s rather than something straight out of the 1950s to represent the old world with some oldies but also other types with electronics to better fit the retrofuturism of Fallout. When I think about what type of music people would listen to during the 2070s, I would think of something similar to a soundtrack called "My Chrysalis Highwayman" from Fallout 2. To me, that represents the retrofuturism and old world of Fallout better than some random oldies, which Bethesda loves to abuse like the Fallout show.

You’ve never heard “And you thought your boss was a pain” about Lanius? I feel like I hear that one more than anything else. Or “Do not, I repeat, do not belittle a super mutant for going down the bunny hill”?

The moment you come out of the Vault he talks about the Power Gangers running amok, the Monster of the East coming West, the attack on Nipton, the taking of Primm, etc. As the game goes on and the Battle of Hoover Dam is shaping up, he talks about the goings on of the wastes, including redirecting of forces. Not to mention when he does talk about the player's actions, it's always on the ground reporting with interviews of actual characters you interacted with, unlike Three Dog who just assumes everything from unspecified insiders.

I agree that making entirely new genres of music and new albums solely for the radio would be creative and interesting. I'd be interested in seeing fans tackle something like that. A 2077 album. For what it is though, I think oldies works fine too. It can definitely be overused, the TV show is a prime example of going way too far, not to mention the song choices Bethesda makes are really dumb, but when it works (New Vegas), it works.

Here's an example someone on this site shared with me once of post-war music that might be made too:

all i hear is, "welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, this is mr new vegas, thank you for listing", and "Tensions are brewing in Freeside between the ruling gang known as the Kings and the large number of NCR squatters seeking refuge there."
