The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

Rewatched Idiocracy. While it's still very funny, it honestly feels like a horror movie at certain points because its portrayal of human society is feeling less and less exaggerated with each passing year.
We're fucking living it in the old USA.

Camacho and Trump are disturbingly similar.

I'm going to try to watch at least one horror movie a day this October.
Just finished Cabin in the Woods (2011). I really enjoyed it. A fun concept that plays with the clichés of the genre and has good special effects. I appreciate how meta the film is with the slasher film clichés from character types like the dumb jock or the last girl, to the typical slasher scenarios being ultimately in service for a human sacrifice to appease some eldritch deities (the audience). Also appreciated the NIN song at the end credits.

Just finished The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). The biggest takeaways for me were the amazing cinematography and how lean the film is, with its runtime being about 80 minutes.

I finished Night of the Living Dead (1968). I had seen it twice before, once last year and some years before that. I like how the zombies use weapons and how the black and white film really allows the zombies to look pretty believable. It is interesting how the Government seems to get a handle on the situation overnight when a lot of Zombie media seems to show them being run threw pretty quickly.

I re-watched 28 Days Later (2002) in preparation for 28 Years Later, and it's still good. The video quality wasn't too good since it was recorded on a cheap camcorder, but that also adds to the atmosphere in a way. Cillian Murphy was great in this, and it's interesting how big the guy has gotten since this film.

Trick 'r Treat (2007) is an anthology horror film that has all of its stories take place on the same Halloween night in a small town. I really dug the vibes of the film as well as the effects of the various monsters. I will say it's more of a fun horror film rather than a truly disturbing one, though I can get into both.

Creep (2014) was a very creepy film, as its title suggests. It follows a videographer who accepted a Craigslist job to film a guy for the day. Things get creepy from there. Overall, I liked the film. I would say it's good but not great.
