Also, the so-called "denisovans" might represent up to 3 different species (or subspecies) of human. I love this idea, of small pockets of isolated humans forming distinct species yet to be uncovered.

I'm seeing paleo-dudes on my Twitter expressing frustration that the researchers went ahead and named it without comprehensive analysis - so, it SEEMS as if other researchers are suspecting H. luzonensis might be H. erectus - or something else allready known
But then, H. floresiensis is even *still* under debate. Classing species within Homo is notoriously difficult, and decades will often pass between overall agreements. Very important discoveries regardless though!
