While it's not so much about Jordan or Stefan "converting" you with clever words, it's more to do with a gradual isolation into a world and mindset that is often designed to exasperate your sense of hope. Gaming-talk is often a hook, then "relatable" gripes about how difficult girls are to impress, followed by all sorts of explanations, where misogyny, antisemitism etc. often take the stage.
