If it just old friends close enough to talking to each other like that I can kinda understand, but say it to someone then say it's just a joke?

No such thing as "internet humor", you run into clever people, and you run into brainless morons. "Fuck yourself with a dildo" is not only boring, but kind of unoriginal.

It depends on timing, the way the joke is told, and the conversation in which it is directed. I could make someone laugh by dropping that nugget into random conversation.
