Well, dog treats can be made of a lot of different stuff, but usually they add fast food's oil. Like the oil they use to fry chips and the grease from cooking hamburgers because it adds flavor. They usually also include bone meal and old dried liver and other parts of animals that are not fit for human consumption.

Pet food has much lower safety standards than food meant for human consumption, dead rats are found in fast or canned food every now and then, probably many more that nobody finds ground up in dog food.
