A good lets player is more than a gamer, in my experience - they're a comedian, a historian, a sociologist, or a trivia book. Those who jump cut tend to be the more money orientated bandwagoners.

Because who wants to watch characters just walk around even if it is just for 15 seconds? That's boring, we need the shooty shooty bang bang always!
How will humans survive if they are starting to have shorter attention spans than goldfish?

I haven't seen too many let's plays do that honestly. Granted I usually watch SSoHPKC for let's plays. AH's videos too, but they're more like guys dicking around than actual LP's. I know DSP doesn't edit his playthroughs, but it seems like a double-edged sword when he gets stuck on a section.
