It is, wait for the last episode.
Walpknut
Walpknut
You said you are by episode 28, you are about to see how shit goes down the hardest in the story.
R.Graves
R.Graves
So basically its literally the most ill fitting theme ever until the last episode?
Walpknut
Walpknut
It is the most fitting theme for the second half of the series where Light's character development goes through it's logical conclusion ending in spectacular fashion.
R.Graves
R.Graves
Not starting at episode 20 it's not. Only now in on episode 28 does he seem to be slipping
Walpknut
Walpknut
The song constantly refers to human (Ningen) in the third person as fearful and weak with the singer as a smug and mocking observer who progressively gets angrier and angrier until he devolves into just a gutural growl which in the full song ends with them coughing due to lack of air.
R.Graves
R.Graves
The tone of the song is still all wrong. Has more of a fuck you daddy vibe than an angry god vibe
Walpknut
Walpknut
It goes from "Ningen sanka. Ai nige ningen fuan ka" which is mockery of the human and their nervousness into just Ningen Fucker, Ningen Sucker, it perfectly shows what starts happening on the second half.
Walpknut
Walpknut
Because Light is not a god. That0s kind of the point.
R.Graves
R.Graves
I guess. Still started using it like 8 or 9 episodes to early.
Walpknut
Walpknut
It starts on the episode where he recovers his memories after his Yotsuba scheme. Just as L dies. That's what starts it.
R.Graves
R.Graves
No it starts a good deal before that. It starts on episode 20. L doesn't die until like episode 25.
Walpknut
Walpknut
I guess it's a bit early but it's still a pretty great opening.
R.Graves
R.Graves
Considering the relatively short length of the series I'd say they start using it ridiculously early. Especially considering it still doesn't quite fit perfectly even at episode 29.
Walpknut
Walpknut
Because it's not a sudden turn, it's a slow build up. You'll see when the Mello arc reaches it's conclusion.
R.Graves
R.Graves
I'll see? I'm not gonna look back and see that this theme fits the BUILD UP. Even if it does eventually fit a couple episodes toward the end using it almost 10 episodes before it even remotely could fit was a mistake.
Walpknut
Walpknut
So you don't appreciate series as a whole but rather just as the immediate? Also it only starts 4 episodes early.
R.Graves
R.Graves
I'd argue it still doesn't fit even after watching episode 29. It's getting there. Also I only appreciate it as an immediate? Wtf is that? It's still good just has an ill fitting theme for roughly 1/4 of the series. At any rate how is only appreciating something for it's immediate merit bad? Just becuase something is good early on doesn't mean it always will be. Look at TWD GOT or weeds.
Walpknut
Walpknut
TWD was never good, and Death Note is a more compressed show with a predefined ending and length. Those are about the whole not the episode by episode.
R.Graves
R.Graves
TWD was a solid show for about 6 episodes. Give or take an episode or two
