So much like Sonic man. Didn't you watch the 90's cartoon..the second one. ;)

It's hilarious how they are back to taking the games' story super seriously. I thought they abandoned that boat with Colors. Still from what I've seen I don't understand why it's getting so shat upon so much seems pretty okay.

I'm pretty sure the story was written by two different groups of writers. There's the one that wanted a super grimdark and edgy story to bring Sonic back to his SatAM roots and there was the group that wanted to have fun and have witty dialogue.

I'd love a game that could adapt a SatAM-styled story into the modern gaming landscape, but Sonic Forces the writers to compromise and it's just coming off lame.

SatAm is kinda cheesy anyway.

Oh, no doubt about it, but it had a sense of... I don't quite know how to phrase it... It had a sense of knowing when _not_ to crack jokes.

The outer rim sounds like what you must wipe after taking a dump. Maybe that's how he got the inspiration for the script.

Wrong post there, Walpy.

Wtf is SatAm ?

In the 90's there were two Sonic cartoons with radically different tone and style running at the same time. One was a low budget Slapstick cartoon the other was a slightly higher budget Adventure show about anthro animals fighting Eggman's empire.

The later one is called Sonic SatAM because that was the time slot it aired on.
Both shows also had Urkel voicing Sonic.

You didn't even exist back then.

I grew up with Sonic X, too. There are currently five Sonic cartoons that have or are running.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: Low budget slapstick. Pure shlock. Avoid at all costs.

SatAM: Cheesy as fuck, but still good.

Sonic Underground: It's SatAM, but with different characters and Sonic and his two siblings are in a band that saves the world.

Sonic X: Pretty good. Probably the most faithful to the source material. Chris is kind of grating though, and not all the VAs are great.

Sonic Boom: Pretty good for a kid's cartoon. Mostly a comedy, though with some action sprinkled throughout.

I personally like Sonic Boom the most. It has some pretty damn good writing (though not every episode is exactly an instant classic) and the voice acting is absolutely great for all the main characters (though some of the side characters are a bit... bad.)

I liked the Sonic Boom episode with Chris-chan.

I liked the Sonic Boom episode where the Sonic Twitter account says that Sonichu will be a playable character in Fire & Ice, but he'll have blue arms, three scarves and will ultimately be a reskin of Big the Cat.
