I'd say that I expected better if I wasn't a hypocrite ^^

But yeah, I'm playing some BotW too now that my PC is useless for gaming now. It's really good, I'd just prefer it to be more traditional as Zelda goes in a myriad of aspects.
I much prefer the new System, rather than make you go through 8 dungeons picking up a myriad useless items you will never use outside it instead focuses on very specific powers that you can upgrade and apply in a very freeform fashion to different situations. Exploration is more meaningful as not only are the rewards better but the envirormental mechanics are great.

Of course, but none of that detracts that there could be more than five mediocre dungeons total added to a billion Portal test rooms. And the 2D games' structures are almost universally a lot more open than the 3D ones. Hell, I don't really like the 3D installments much in the first place.
The Sacred Bests are more creative and interesting than 90% of the Dungeons in the series, and the fact that you use the envirorment along with the powers to solve them different ways makes the experience better. In Twilight Princess I was already checked out by the third Dungeon because the whole Zelda formula had become really monotonous.
The fact that they do deliver on the "See that mountain? you can climb it" to the point where you can fight Ganondorf with only 3 Hearts if you have the skill is already more open than most open world games and is more open than any of the 2D Zeldas. The Shrines are fun too (except the Gyro ones).
