Fallout 2 Restoration Project (Unofficial Expansion) - Windows installer 2.3.3

Another RP release packed full of fixes is at hand and we even have some restored content to go with it too! With the imminent arrival of Wasteland 2, hopefully you can get at least one more Fallout 2 round in.

Will there be more RP releases? Well, you can only chisel away for so long, but there does seem to be some critter animations (Punk Girl, actual combat leather jacket animations, etc) being worked on and it would be a shame if they didn't find their way into the RP. And of course bug lists make me sad. But I will say this, if you've been waiting, don't wait anymore. Seriously. Just play. It seems obsession is the only driving force for me to keep working on these continued updates and that's just not as fun as it should be.

So without further ado, enjoy!

Note: Previous 2.3.x save games should be compatible, but to ensure no problems come up please start anew. There are some areas that will potentially break with old saves unless you enter them for the first time. You've been warned.

Bug reports should be added to the Fallout 2 RP bug report wiki. A link can be found below. Posting issues only in this thread risks your report being lost over time.

Installation instructions:

1. Make a clean installation of Fallout 2 (humongous install). If you are running Vista/7/8, be sure to NOT install in the c:\program files directory.
2. Download and install the RP (only use the manual install if you really know what you're doing)
3. That's it. Don't install anything else, unless you know what you're doing!

Makes the best Fallout even better by a long shot.
Loved to replay fallout2 with this mods / fixes. Recommend to anyone who loved the original.

Most and foremost love the new locations, but also quests, characters, items, the list goes on
Game just feels more complete, for me: submarine, EPA, tribe

A list of bugs follows just because I loved the mod, not because I wanna leave a bad review. There was nothing gamebreaking for me.

Bugs (but not 100% sure they are because of modding)
- Outro said I killed the deathclaws. I did not (helped deathclaws, freed deathclaw in navarro)
- Gun turrets at Frank / final boss randomly hitting for over 300 dmg instead of 5-10 (Loading again fixed it)
- Play it in fullscreen mode. Else you gonna have a bad time waiting for fighting animations of enemies to finish (windowed mode is buggy)
- Game crashing in encounters. Enemy groups seem to level along with the player. At some point e.g. raiders or gangs will have one guy wearing enclave power armor(?!). Shooting at the guy will crash the game every time.
Better vanilla
essential
I never played the game w/o this mod so i realy have no idea what it's like vanilla, but I really couldnt tell the difference between OG parts and modded ones. Great mod!
Quite a good mod, however it is still quite buggy and i find myself looking up solutions on the internet every couple hours because ive stumbled upon another area that crashes my game.
Holds up well and i dont think i could play this game again without the RP.
Amazing mod, must have took a lot of hard work and time to complete.
Probably The Best Mod I ever found.
This made fallout 2 a much funnier experience, I played fallout two first with this mod, and will never play without, why? Deathclaws, they live, and for that this mod deserves all praise
This mod is great! But it is a bit lackluster it feels. Yes, adding back in some things that where here and there, dropped was an amazing idea! which enhances the play time by about 12 hours+!!! Though, thats about it.

I give it a 4 star because its just base Fallout 2 Full release. + a few additional mods here and there. Bug fixes, ect.

Not to be bias, but this mod should integrate with Megamod. It CAN be done. The problem is coding errors and the like.

Megamod integrates alot of useful mods to be compatible with each other, and a few that are from lost content, but doesnt bring back everything that is missing from the Fallout dropped content like RP does. this is where the roads ultimately split.

All in All? it was very fun! id recommend this mod.
