    Character builds?

Strength - 5 is good Perception - 4 or 5 Endurance - up to 9 is awesome. If you have less than 9, you can't get all the implants in the game. Charisma - 4 or 5. Pretty useless. Intelligence - up to 9. Not as important as in FO1 or FO2, but still useful. Agility - not really sure, but above...

Holy crap, things get awesome *Vegas spoilers*

I haven't beaten the game yet, so I didn't click any of those spoiler tags, but I have noticed one disjointed main quest script: [spoiler:1552055e25]I killed Benny AND I killed Caesar (without ever having met or talked to him - I walked in and unloaded my gun into his face), then I took the...

Fallout: New Vegas' bugs due to its size

25 hours into my PC version of the game. I've had 3 CTDs, 1 freeze, and that's it. I didn't even get my first CTD until 19 hours in. I realize that the console versions are much buggier, but that's what you get for playing on a console.

Wang Dang Atomic Tango Quest Help

I searched for like 20 minutes last night in order to find it. It's okay. The climax of the quest was worth it.

    @ Hardcore Fallout 1&2 Fan

What would make the vaults interesting? Remember that in the first Fallout games, the vaults were largely free of anything interesting. Vault 15 was a disappointment to the Vault Dweller and a headache for the Chosen One. Vault 8 was storage for Vault City. The only really interesting vault was...

    Post images of your character

Me, Boone, and my bigass Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle. I don't wear power armor because it slows me down, is very heavy, and helps my companion more than me...when I'm swarmed, I run. He just stands there. Also this funny screenshot of a Lakelurk:

Best places to buy Energy weapons and ammo? + PA training?

You're actually talking about the people I had to kill to get the power armor training. Good thing my character is too goody-two-shoes to do quests for them, because I just closed off all the lines :)

Fallout: New Vegas reviews roundup #5

Without Fellout, Fallout 3's actual environment is UGLY as sin. Even with Fellout, the landscape of Fallout 3 is nowhere near as striking as the landscape of Fallout: New Vegas. I did like Fallout 3's art design for the exteriors of locations. There really were some beautiful landmarks -...

Best places to buy Energy weapons and ammo? + PA training?

I got power armor training by replacing Elder McNamara with Hardin, asking Hardin if I could join the Brotherhood, and then doing his quest to kill the Van Graffs. I don't know if the Khans sell energy weapon ammo, but their ammo restocks and they have A LOT OF IT. They're in Red Rock Canyon...

Does Boone sound a bit like myron to any one else?

I thought they had the exact same voice, but they don't. Myron was voiced by Jason Marsden. The Fallout wiki says Boone is voiced by JAMES Marsden (a completely different, unrelated actor) but I just can't believe that I'm hearing two different voices. I guess it's true because it's in the...

Has anyone else killed Caesar yet? With their own gun?

It appears that killing Caesar is part of Boone's questline, so I followed it through. I was never planning on supporting the Legion anyway, or doing any quests for them. After I was done Boone said that it wouldn't change anything and that they'd replace him anyway, so I guess that's that.

    Guns or energy weapons?

If you're playing hardcore mode, beware...microfusion cells are very heavy. I'm glad I didn't choose energy weapons. I don't know if this is random, but I found a plasma rifle in Nipton. It was on a dead guy amongst the airstream trailers. That's pretty early game, for anyone still looking.

Fallout: New Vegas Reviews Roundup #4

I don't feel like the game feels ANYTHING like Fallout 3. The gameplay mechanics are the same. It uses the same engine. That is all. The games are like identical twins with radically different personalities. Of course, if you hated the mechanics of Fallout 3 (and I don't blame you), you probably...

Bethesda allegedly pulls negative Fallout: New Vegas review

A lot of the books that were in both Morrowind and Oblivion came from Daggerfall. The team that worked on Daggerfall is long gone, and more's the pity, because the main quest in that game was very well done. It's a bit challenging to give a character personality when they only get 4 or 5...

Fallout: New Vegas reviews roundup #5

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/10/21/wot-i-think-fallout-new-vegas/#more-42293 Holy cow. That's funny considering every single location in Fallout 3 looked essentially the same inside. Grayish green, metal, and dirty + cluttered as fuck. They have nothing on Camp McCarran. And...

    So... many... references... (spoiler warning)

At least we know the Chosen One didn't end up suffering an eternal vanishing trunk glitch :D

Has anyone else killed Caesar yet? With their own gun?

I just went in guns blazing and wiped him out entirely. I didn't really see any other way, because my companion refused to go with me peacefully and I didn't want to leave him behind. I only got one quest failure (I think it said "Et Tumor, Brute?") so does this mean there aren't too many...

To anyone still doubting if New Vegas can make up for F3...

I live in suburban Michigan. People here are depressed as fuck. And we live on the edge of a modern-day post-apocalyptic city, for real :)

To anyone still doubting if New Vegas can make up for F3...

I was amused by most of her lines *shrugs* her voice actor was terrible, like everyone else in Fallout 3 (all five of them!) and with a different voice actor and no change in dialogue, she could have been much funnier than she was. It wouldn't take much effort to turn perky into sarcasm.

    First impressions.

Nobody even used slaves at all in Fallout 3. Was there a single slave in the whole game outside of Paradise Falls? I never played The Pitt and I guess slaves were being sent there, but that still doesn't explain how and why Paradise Falls exist. Or Evergreen Mills. I have to say that now that...
